just replacing a 5S is your cheapest route...did i tell you already about my buddy's shop in Sealy? www.ddperformanceresearch.com he will give you a good honest deal to replace the engine. Or he can do a V6 swap if you want to go that route.

yes smaay you did and they gave me a very reasonable price, but i currently have a low budget. A co-worker recomended me a mechanic that has changed two engines for two cars he owns. Both work great, and he said he will do it for 800-900 which is something i can afford at the moment. However i do plan on going to your friends shop to do a swap to another engine sometime next year when i have the money for that. thank you also for trying to help me out btw i do appreciated.

Drove on a rod knock for nearly 6 months in my 7a then boom, dead...carnage all from cylinder one I believe. Picked up another engine recently rebuilt and runs like a champ...too bad the car was totaled in an accident. Engines still great, but the new project car is getting a full work up to a v6, the 5s just isn't cutting it in the "fun to drive" department!
