Okay, well I am in the process of installing 17" Caldina Alloys onto my car...

My problem is in this part of the car/wheel:

Basically, the wheel was quite difficult to get to sit properly when installing them, and then when I was removing the wheel It wouldn't come off at all.. As if it was wedged onto the car... I had to put my whole body weight onto the wheel to get it off the car, both sides where the same...

The only thing I can think of causing this is the round part shown above which slips onto the car...

Anyone got any ideas what I could do to stop this, because it doesn't feel correct at all... Or anyone currently running on Caldina alloys have the same problem?

Unless something is off with the hub perhaps. Norberto had them, I don't think he had any issues. The rotor hub looks to be on the grungy side, could try removing the crud and rust.

I will be cleaning both the inside of the wheel and the hub before trying again smile.gif

I might also put a coat of paint over the hub to protect it

Paint would just chip off after awhile, could try using rust converter. Unless over in Australia it's illegal or cost $100 a bottle. tongue.gif

Rust converter is easy to get, and yeah I know it would chip and such, but it would still help tongue.gif

Definitely clean up the hub and the center bore in the rim. I have no issues mounting mine at all.

Nah gotta buy a new car now laugh.gif

in all seriousness though, I cleaned the Bore of one wheel today and the hub of both the front wheels, and then I tried the one clean Caldina wheel on and on the driver side it was perfect and the passenger side sat correctly but still was hard to get off...
Gonna clean it up further and do the rears another day (y)

To avoid it from seizing in the future, I have some stuff called anti seize that I apply to bolts that are at risk

My dad suggested to put a bit of grease on the hub and see if that helps

Some petroleum jelly or lithium grease would work well. Not only would it help with the wheel getting stuck, it'll keep the hub from rusting up again.

That will be the plan once tyres are on!
