I'm getting close to this thing being drivable, and it's gonna need some snow tires for winter. I usually run Blizzaks, but I think I may want to try something else this winter.

I want some honest opinions on snow tires from you guys, and what size you're running. Will be using factory GT rims until I finish the conversion, then Camry 15" steels thereafter.

I run tractionized blizzaks at snow races.... they are good unless you get in deep snow. Really you need to decide if you want ice or snow tires and go from there.

I have Continental TS800 on my car, but they are only availible in 14'. Larger dimensions have TS830 or 850, which supposed to be the best winter tire. I am amazed by TS800, because you have to be really brave to break grip with them on the snow. Continentals are my recommendation, but the choice is yours

I ran General Altimax Artics last winter and I absolutely love them.
Had to buy new ones for my 15" stock wheels since I originally bought too big of a size for my 16" wheels.
You have to go with 195/55/15 instead of the stock 205/55/15 since they only make them in 195's.

I had a set of Federal Himalaya WS2 and I thought they were really good for the price. They are more snow tires than performance winter tires and have a bit of road noise and somewhat noticeable rolling resistance. That didn't bother me because I frequently drove to the mountains and wanted tires that are capable of climbing uphill even in the worst conditions.

It's a good idea anyway to undersize a snow tire.

I second General Altimax Arctic! I run them on all my winter vehicles, and so do all of my buddies.
