There's an adjustment nut by the base of the lever, so off with the center console bit. Perhaps reachable by removing glove box?

Nope make sure you have enough brake pads for the hand brake. There are some springs can be adjusted in a hole in the disc by removing the wheels

start with the pads and other parking brake hardware as stated above and then adjust the parking brake nut if needed

The nut doesn't really do it.
I had this same issue and tried tightening that way. It does reduce the amount you need to pull the lever, but it does not make it hold any better. I haven't solved the issue though, as I don't have inclines to park on in my city, and if I do Ill just leave it in gear for reassurance. -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

There is a hole on the rotor that is made so you can adjust the parking brake. Turn the rotor so the hole is at the bottom and put a flathead screwdriver through horizontally. The inside of the parking brake will look similar to this:
That notched pieced will actually spin and either push the pads apart or bring them together. You will pry up or down(depending on the side) to push the pads further apart, and thus be tighter to the inside of the rotor when you pull the parking brake.
