Turning 40 in few months curious how many older owners we have on forum.
As Celica gets older and cheaper the majority of owners get younger which is
to be expected. What keeps you interested in Celica and not moving on.?
Friend of mine is 44 and has 2 very nice tuned ST-185s .My body guy and
also good friend who also 39 has a ST-185,MK1 S/C MR2,Widebody 93t mr2 with 14k miles,
AE86, and tuned 2dr RAV-4 all RED !

I bought my ST205 as 30 birthday present and 10 years later finally get to enjoy it .
Already told fiancee i will be buried in it . Totally look forward to restoring and developing
to modern standards . Look forward to sunny weekends as that is only time will be driven.
Amazing part is i have almost more mileage on my 2013 XV . Only 8k mile difference for car
only year old vs 20yr old car .

You are only as old as you make her feel! Or, old enough to know better, but too young to resist!

Of the two "collector" cars I own, the Celica convertible is for fun and the other is luxury performance! I truly appreciate the engineering and handling of the Celica. Enjoy the subtle attention it gets for its stunning good looks. Many people have never seen one and just the other day a police officer pulled up and asked me what year it is. Doesn't get any better than traveling the highways and byways of the South in a flip top during the fall of the year!

Just turned 52 this week and I am on my third GT4, 90 & 92 ST185s and currently my 96 ST205. All were/are daily driven, year round. Driving to work and back is my anti-depressant drug of choice.

I used to love the look of the first Celicas when they showed up in the 70's (not so much in the mid-80's) in North America. When I was able to get my hands on the reasonably priced JDM GT4s, I was all over it.

I'm 60. Yeah, I'm old and getting older. (Who's getting younger?) But I still love driving a convertible in summer.

My Celica is a '99 convertible, with about 59K miles. I drive it only in summer, then it goes back in the garage until next year.

It's one of my younger cars. During the rest of the year my daily driver is an '89 Mitsubishi Galant. That one is also garaged. I just took my Celica off the road a few days ago and went back to driving the old Galant. It's another sweet car that I won't part with. It looks and runs like new.

My previous convertible was an '88 Celica which clocked about 160K miles. I sold it after I bought the '99 as a used car in 2003. I didn't want a Solara - too big and heavy and ugly. I had to have another Celica convertible and since they weren't making any more I had to search for one that was "pre-owned'. No regrets!!! biggrin.gif

Condition is far more important than age. It applies to people as well as to cars. wink.gif

I'm 46. My intro to the celica world was the 91 st that we bought for my daughter. Then on to a 96 st. Its my dd with 223k on it. Tough little cars No doubt about it. I would like to find a similar condition GT but they are not easy to find here in Tennessee. Almost every one you find for sale in good shape is a convertible.

As the old song goes "you make me feel so young..." biggrin.gif (My wife is a few years younger than me and when she mentions growing older I tell her "Honey, you'll always be younger than me". wink.gif

How many miles on the old gal (meaning your Celica, of course)?

Just turned 37 last month.

I was looking for something better on gas than my work truck. Didn't want to get the same thing as everyone else so decided on the Celica. I think the looks are timeless. I get asked a lot what year it is and people are usually surprised when I tell them.

I can never get rid of it. When my girlfriend got in for our first date several years ago she said "I didn't know you drove a sports car!"

My reply: "I didn't know I did either"

I know I don't belong here as I still have some years before 35 haha. I find it interesting how many owners of Celicas are older...since my first car at 16 was my 93 gt smile.gif It's nice to see Celica fans in all age ranges!

I'm a hit 33 in Jan. I came over from the Mustang world not too long ago. I had 98 which I owned for 10yrs but unfortunately I had to sell it due to financial reasons. Anyhow I picked up a vert last year and its just been such a blast to own. The drop top is such a difference from the sliding sunroof, its just fun, and the motor is easy on the gas lol. I have no plans at all to ever sell the Celi, besides BMW's and Mercedes are a dime a dozen now,, they other day I pulled into a gas station and an older gentleman was on the other side of the pump sorta looking at the Celi,, I didn't think much of it, but then he comes up to me and says, nice car you don't see many of those around anymore so hold on to it. Which is kinda cool to hear. Anyhow, correct me if I'm wrong, I think between 1995 and 1999 - 18,000 Celica Convertibles were ever made,, if that's true someday she's gonna be a classic,, maybe I'll throw an Antique license plate on it ahhahaha

My latest pic
