I'm having issues with the "brake" light on my dash not coming on. I have a remote start and the light needs to come on in order for the system to arm itself. Sometimes it turns on when I pull the e-brake but most of the time I get nothing. Any idea what could be causing the issue and/or how to fix it?

The physical button could be bunk, or the wiring may be shorting or loose somewhere. I'd start with removing the arm rest section and checking the actual button switch for the ebrake, and then the wires.

There is a bolt or two inside the center arm compartment after you lift the lid. I'm not sure whether you have to remove the center console/radio area cover, because the front-most part of the arm rest might be overlapped by the bottom trim of the center console.

Got it all pulled apart and sprayed a massive amount of contact cleaner on it while repeatedly depressing the switch and that seemed to have solved the issue. Thank you
