Can anyone share their experience removing cloth upholstery from their door-card inserts? Mine are ruined and I'd like to know how to pull them off without damaging the vinyl underneath.

I was able to pull mine off easily then remove the glue with acetone.

it's just cloth with adhesive that isn't that strong. I've ripped a pair off of a wrecked GT at the junkyard.
underneath was just fine. lol. -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

Thanks for the replies and pictures guys . I figured it would be easy but I've broken enough things in the past to motivate a question haha.

If you're really worried, I found isopropyl alchohol and non-acetone fingernail polish remover both worked well at softening the adhesive. For the most part you don't have to worry, unless the vinyl behind the hard is cracked -- most likely around the edge of the card where the vinyl is pressed into that tight crevice.
