If you haven't seen www.Teslamotors.com , well wtf is wrong with you?

First they made the roadster(with a Lotus body) and then they started making this 4door sedan the model S.
the newest one, the Model X, looks kinda like an SUV with gull-wing doors that you could open even if you were parked 6" away from another car.

anyway , you can get this one in AWD, it has two motors, one in front and one in back - 0-60 in less than 5 seconds.

so naturally what I want to do is figure out how to swap this system into a Celica smile.gif It can't be anymore work than re-wiring the whole damn thing for a BEAMS.

for those of you who still doubt the capabilities of the electric car, Know that an electric motor does not have a torque "curve" . it has a constant torque, full torque
even at 1rpm. many of the models do not use a multi gear transmission, they are direct drive, you just smash the pedal and spin it up all the way.

if you haven't seen this it's a video of a concept car (not a Tesla) but has the same type of motor with a lightweight tube frame.
11 sec 1/4 mile , watch him Smoke a Porsche and Ferrari

the only thing really holding it back it the battery technology, and that is only a matter of time.

I'm more partial to the Rimac Concept One as far as electric goes.

Firstly because who doesn't like having power on demand like you said, but also having over 1000hp and 1200ft/lb of torque.

Secondly... because I'm Croatian and that's who makes the car.

I used to show that video to my class when I taught refrigeration at a trade school.
I'd ask "Who wants an electric car?" and they'd all say "WTF kinda homo do I look like?"

then I'd show them the vid of the Ferrari getting smoked and watch the look on their faces ha ha

That sound like it would be a horrible god awful project. It spins interesting but sounds terrible. Tesla's are cool and I respect them but I wouldn't own one.
