and swap them in again

so i had my car registered and insured...



went to get it aligned, and



they cant, they are seized, i should have checked before i did it. lol, now im in need of new nuts, at least, otherwise i cant get it aligned.

the other nuts are worse...

i just hate to take those arms off, again!!!!. then trying to find bolts, as there is no parts number for the nuts, as they are sold as whole...

For all of you interested. the nuts on the rear control arms, are m16x1.5. you need two RH and two LH..

haha, left handed nuts. Yes they are rare, and only a few places sell them. on top of that, i need a left handed, m16x1.5 die or thread restorer, thats even more rare...

i had to order online. the threads on the arms are messed up. lol..

car is down for another week maybe on account of this...

with no yards with celicas around, and all the ghost part outs in the fs section, im stuck.

Hmm, maybe refurbish the wheels if you haven't already? That'd take up the week you have to wait. Perfect time to do such since it's already up in the air.

haha, not really.

i needed to take the car to fix the A/C.

no more refurbishing. the car is done.

I will probably put the car for sale on ebay and see what it bites. Ive learned a lot, done a lot for fun, and some people ask why all this to just sell. I dont know. maybe if i dont sell ill keep it . My wife wants an mr2 spyder, and i will enjoy one too.

the original intention was to sell the car, but then i just decided to fix here and there, and one thing led to another. most of the things i added, were just laying around, could not sell, or just did not need them..

with the exception of the suspension bits. but that adds value to the car. I get to keep the e153 with lsd, and bring this car back to life, as the previous engine had too much ifs....

I will drive the car in the mean time and enjoy, not in a rush to sell. the beams was fun, but i needed to sell it. the convertible, thats another story for another day...

In the end, i will loose some money, but someone will be happy.

Would you mind giving a few details, including opinions, on the tools you used, like your air compressor, sand blaster(s), lifts, press, welder, and what all, and any special ways you used them? Any details that would help people like me who want to do the same would be appreciated?.

For example, some parts were too large to fit into the sand blast cabinet, so did you have a second blaster? You didn't show yourself sand blasting away rust.

tank is a 2 stage, 80 gallon. i have a portable blasted, that i use in the driveway. I have a plasma cutter, lincon 180 welder, and harbor freigh crapo hoist, press and engine stand.

as for tools, the usual stuff, i have been collecting over the years. no special way to use them. I learn as i go.

i buy as I need, the best prices i get, not necessarily the best ones out there. its based on your budget.

granted i really use them, more than once, if im not then i dont buy it...

haha I wince when I buy some harbor tools. But somethings they have are pretty good. For instance I would never buy a torque wrench from harbor, but their 20 ton press is pretty awesome.

When you took out the old engine and installed the BEAMS, did you have a helper, or were you able to do it by yourself with the crapo hoist and engine stand? I am assuming you have done that more than once, else you would have talked more about it when you showed your photos, it wouldn't have gone so quickly, plus you wouldn't be so soon talking about selling what you just made. But that's the view of someone who has never seen it done imagining. . . I'm really impressed!

I did it by myself. i bought this car, because I needed to put the beams somewhere. Im was not going to get the money i wanted if i sold the beams by itself, and not wanted the hassle to ship. However, i got a little more that what i wanted, as i did not expect rust to be bad, and to many mishaps to get this car anywhere decent.

I have taken out engines several times all by myself, never used help. Yes i will sell the car, soon, in a couple of months. why because i already have a celica, but its down, currently in the middle of a swap...

but in the meantime, cannot be without a celica, so ill drive this one. But when i got it it was not up to my standards.. and now it almost is. needs the a/c charged...
