My mechanic said I need a parking brake cable for the driver side. Does that mean the right, rear? Front? I have no clue. I want to get my own part though because I have seen them for about 30- 40 bucks. He said he can get one for 80 bucks. I want to save $$.
If he says, 'driver side', is that the front or rear, left? I am looking on rockauto.com and advanced auto parts. Thanks guys! |

It's your rear drivers side one. You only have 2 cables for the parking brake, both go to the rear, but one goes to the drivers side and the other goes to the passenger side. You should be able to get them for $20-$40 on your own.

Lithia Toyota and 1sttoyotaparts.com are both online part sellers operated by Toyota dealerships -- Lithia in particular has been a great supporter to the Celica community. You could also try Rockauto.com to see if they have an aftermarket version. However, it might be cheapest to pull one from the junkyard as these cables aren't really wear items. Car-part.com is a searchable database of junkyards across North America.

Buy it new. They seize after a while.
