Looking to change my tires.
My rims are 16" OZ Racing Superleggera with a width of 7 inches and weight of 14.5 pounds (6.6kg).
I am currently on 205/50 tires and I like the look, I am not sure I want to go lower than 50 since the rims are not that big and it will create a much bigger gap in the wheel wells, I am still on stock suspension. Not to mention the number of pot holes and speed bumps in town. But I want to go wider, maybe 225.
I am looking for a strictly summer tire, I already have other rims with winter tires.
I heard the guys on the 6GC podcast talk about Michelin Pilot Sport, the only 16" there is Pilot Sport 3 215/45
I've been advices on Dunlop and Continental as well.

What is your opinion?

I'd say nankang ns20 would do the job perfectly fine. There usually around $300 only for a whole set too. Nankang to me.is underrated. From my experience. They're the best DD tires. Inexpensive and good.

I'll use this thread to avoid opening an unnecessary thread.

Has anyone any experience with Toyo Proxes T1R tires? I think the reviews are pretty decent for that price.

How are they at the edge of adhesion?

Rusty is running a set, ask him. I think Mike T. uses a similar compound tire.

I could be wrong, but unless you're running coilovers or a really stiff spring, you may have some handling issues on stock suspension with that much grip. I think the chassis snaps and does weird stuff when the tire is that grossly overmatched for the relatively soft struts and springs, not to mention the relatively large amount of body roll in stock form. Almost like the tires transition more quickly than the chassis can move, if that makes sense...

Firestone Firehawk INDY 500 Wide Oval.

I ran them two years in a row on the Dragon and LOVE them.

cant go wrong with toyos man. they are really bad in the wet though. grip like glue in the dry

Bridgestone Potenza RE-760 Sports. I love them. They've never lost traction in dry or wet conditions for me. That's with also doing autoX in dry weather.
