looking to get a boost gauge that has lights so i can see it at night.
which do you guys think is brighter / easier to read at night?

that seems to be the usual for 6gc's from what i have seen on various build threads.did you go with mechanical or digital if u dont mind me asking.

I hear defi gauges are good. They're pricey but I've heard they're good.

so i think ive decided to get the prosport performance in green / white

the Evo series has a wideband afr that the other doesn't which is only reason im considering it.

Prosport offers guages that are basically a copy of defi's in every way, including the use of a stepper motor and opening sweep. I've found my set (52mm premium series) to be accurate and as responsive as I could ever need. I do not have a single negative thing to say. And one of the bonuses is that they can be wired to change colors depending on how you have the lowbeams switched.

They are pricey though, I think I paid close to $400 for boost, oil pressure, and wideband. Still cheaper than actual defi's though

i didnt much like the look of the premiums. the change of color thing is biggest reason i think im going with them.
im stuck between a grey / green / black OR white / gold / black color scheme for the car and with the green / white gauges that both of those
are offered in i would be able to change if i dont like the scheme i end up with.
i was unaware of the fact that they are just basically copies of defis.
i only plan on 2 gauges for right now boost / AFR.
probably going to end up with the EVO series though. I like the aspect of actually seeing the numbers and not having to read lines while driving
(personal preference i guess)

thanks for your advice swift. once i get them if i have any problems hooking them up would it be ok to send you a pm for some help?

If you get prosport, get the premium clear lens series. The tinted ones are impossible to see in the day time.
Autometer is actually better when it comes to overall visibility.

after little bit more research on the EVO series (as that is the ones ill be getting as of now at least) they seems to be powered once ACC is turned on and at night you wire them into light switch (splice into wire? or fuse) and at that point you can change the color if you want by simply using a different wire that comes with the gauge
of course im speaking only of the boost gauge right now but i imagine it would be the same for the AFR.
i think when i wire them up ill make sure to take some pictures to do a write up on it as i haven't been able to find one on here

I'm a little old school with gauges. Autometer makes one that has the same dials and look as our OEM gauge cluster, so I go with them.
