OK, guys so long story short just paid $600+ for a new timing belt, water pump etc. and my motor (5SFE) just went pop. So I'm looking into doing a Beams swap, but want to ask a few questions first.
1. what are my cv axle choices using Beams lsd transmission? 2. what components can be used from my 5SFE alternator, ac compressor, sensors, etc.? 3. head gasket options, been searching for one & only find valve cover gaskets? 4. Is the super strut suspension worth having? Currently on KYB struts and Tein S. Tech springs. 5. Will Tein S. Tech springs fit super strut? 6. Are super strut rear struts compatible with the ST204 rear setup, meaning is this a bolt in option or will I need new rear sway bar, end links, etc.? I'm sure I'll have more questions before I pull the trigger on this. I also thought about doing a 3rd Gen. 3SGE, but I'm now leaning toward the Beams or another option would be a 4th Gen 3SGTE. only problem with this is the weight on the front end I think would outweigh the benefit of the extra hp. IMO. Please share your thoughts. Thank you Lamont |

Alot of the info/part numbers you are looking for will be in the BEAMS sticky thread.
stock axles will suffice for the swap. If you are getting a swap, you should get a FULL swap, so there would be no need for anything from the 5SFE (wouldnt fit anyways) Why you would switch to Superstrut? -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

Well as far as the super strut question I see many swaps on eBay that come complete with the super strut so I was seeing if it's worth the extra cost. |

My young padawan. Seems like the questions you have indicate me you need more reading on the subject. There are several members threads that go over your questions. My thread has a lot of info.

I believe (without experience) that some of the engine peripherals would swap over, i.e. the powersteering pump, ac compressor and perhaps the alternator. It is the same block with .2L less displacement and a different cylinder head. Though you will need the Beams wiring harness, ecu, sensors and manifolds.
There is no superstrut rear suspension to my knowledge, only the st205 awd and the suspension shared by the at200, st202 and st205. Most people convert to McPherson Struts from SuperStrut rather than the reverse due to the cost, complexity and limited availability of SS parts. I think the 3sgte is only 40lbs heavier? This could be offset with ease by mounting the battery in either the trunk or passenger compartment and by eliminating or relocating other unnecessary items such as the windscreen washer tank or overflow tank. The 3sgte equipped cars also carry the additional weight on the front axles of an upgraded transmission(E154), superstrut suspension, awd transfer case and drivershaft, which are unnecessary for you to include in your swap. If weight is a concern, the 3.0L V6 1MZ-FE is actually something like 50lbs lighter than a 5sfe due to its use of an aluminum block. In addition, the V6 should have a lower center of gravity, though this may be offset by its greater width (the front bank sits farther forward from the axles), which would create a greater moment of inertia when trying to turn the vehicle or navigate bumps.
