Well some girl in a huge truck rear ended me yesterday in the school parking lot. She thought I had gone but I hadn't and she wasn't paying attention, gassed it, and hit me. There was not even a dent on her truck that I saw.
So anyways I went to get a couple estimates on the damage. The first place said $1700 and the second place said $4700...I'm gonna get one more estimate and see what they say. And of course she is trying to blame me saying I rolled back into her (even though I have an automatic...) but even if I did it would never cause that much damage. As the second body shop explained to me, to make it look like nothing ever happened they need to replace the whole bumper, taillight, and some metal panel thing that is inside I think....Also the side of the car was bent outward because of the impact, and that also needs to get bent back to normal. And to get it painted correctly they need to paint the entire back end along with up and over the car so it looks natural. He told me the reason the first shop was so cheap is because they were just going to paint that one spot. Also because they were going to "repair" the bumper, which is very hard because it is torn from the car and cracked in a few places, along with other reasons. You really have to see it up close to tell that there is more than what it looks like. |

I would get several more estimates just because of the price difference in the 2 you have now.I would hate to see you turn in 3 estimates and the lowest being the $1700 and than finding out later they overlooked something, and you now do not have the money needed to fix it.In fact I would turn in the 3 highest estimates and never even mention the lowest ones you get.
From the pictures it looks like you might be replacing the back bumper cover and trunk lid, if it was my car and the other person was at fault I know they would be, and that will cost quite abit along with the tail light, and the part where the license plates sits.$1700 does'nt sound close if you have to replace all that, and than consider labor on top of that. Nothing says you have to turn in all the estimates, just the highest 3 works fine. -------------------- |

Women have got to be the worst driver ever , I remember from high school we used to take bets on who would have the first finder bender and guess what it was always some stupid A$$ girl running into some else. Then they would try and cry their way out of the ticket. You can tell I have had a bad experience.
But any I agree use the most expensive quotes. Take her to the cleaners . William |

not just the most expensive quotes, but the ones that list the most repairs on them, and the ones that REPLACE, not repair the most....

well I have a friend that used to work at the locally body shop and the owner has done the math and he said 85% of the cars that come in are from women causing accidents or going into something, like fences, trees, stuff around the house. but normally when guys are at fault the cars are pretty much totalled. Atleast when we do it we do it all the way
Sorry about the car though |

Yeah, I need to get front bumper, rear passenger quarter panel, driver's rear quarter panel, driver's side door driver's side mirror....all that replaced cuz of one ass going 30 mph thru the parking lot int he snow...slamming on brakes and ramming into my driver's side..I ended up hitting a curb and a rail on the other parts. Sucks don't it?

I agree that women are the worst drivers! especially when theyre in SUVs I had 5 G's of damage to my celica back in april of 03 when a lady ran the stop sign and hit me and proceeded to drive off..she finally stopped! i then looked at the damage began to cry and she said; and i quote "Look at it this way, you can get another car" -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City
