As we all know the JDM headlights are extremely expensive and even hard to find for me. I saw these lights and the oval shape looks very similar to the 6gc ones, but belong to a 95-99 dodge neon!! I have many extra lights from the celica but cannot afford the sexy ass JDM ones as of yet. i was willing to doing some type of invention but would first like to know if anybody has any idea if the clear covers from the dodge neon lights are the same diameter as the 6gc ones.

My plan is to do all the following from the JDM light customization many do, but to the stock ones and somehow fitting the halo projectors and led/ HID (as long as I get a good looking, flush overall product) wink.gif

And yes I know its a little out of the box, but I think its possible. If anybody have any extra neon head lights would you measure? lol

Here I have included a link to the light that cough my attention. Now i am aware that the housing from the stock ones will be needed since these seem as if they have no housing.

The Idea's been inpemented now lets see if any creative peoples can assist me in the completion of this project wink.gif.

Comments, concerns and insults are requested lol.

Yes but it needs "A LOT" of work.
I've done it but didn't like it.
What you need to do is:
Cut off all the mounting points off the neon lamps.
Make new longer brackets to mate with OEM fixing points.
Cut off about 70% off the tubilar head lamp section on the bumper. Also shave off about 2cm down wards to add depth.
Cut away about 2cm off the wings which mates to the lamps then make a neat edge.
Only then can the Dodge lamps fit in that position.
HOWEVER! Though they fit after so much modding, the light now points outwards due to the angle they sit.
I was only able to do this because I have a spare FRP C One bumper and some FRP wings lying around I could cut up.
Doing this on your OEM bumper and metal wings will be a PITA. Totally not worth it in my opinion.

Now I'm taking a different approach.
Gut out the OEM lamps.
Using the clear lenses off the Neon and also internals of the neons, install it into the housing of the OEM lamps.
However the neons are larger so you'd need to trim it down to get it to fit into the OEM housing.
Same goes for the clear lenses.
The other alternative is to sand down the glass lenses and polish it.
Also another idea I had was to use the internals from an after market Fiat 500 lamp which is a bit smaller than the Neons.

But they do cost more.

I'l do this when I have a bit more time in summer.

I like the Ideas. I have been plotting a lil moding myself which I hope to begin soon. I will post some pictures as soon as I make something that looks flush. Ifound a website that make custom lights and motivated me to create my own by ordering my own projectors, shrouds, and all that good stuff I need... smile.gif

Will put some pics as soon I I make some worth while lol

Is it possible to make o hole new headlight?
A lot of people make lenses from plexiglass and retrofit their headlights, but if we could make and frp housing so we could make
a hole new so we wont destroy our oem projectors.
This way if we make a mistake or we don't like the final product we still have our oen projectors.
What is your opinion on this?

Well I have two pairs and am willing to investigate. i have seen a few forums where they install these huge boulders of projector but nows technology has fixed that and thus should offer better chances of customanization wink.gif

Ima practice with this full kit I found on this website [ http://www.theretrofitsource.com/ ] for less than $350. Fully custom for cheaper than 900 sounds good to me wink.gif

Im comfident that Ill get a good outcome. If it works out I might offer some to other 6gc enthusiasts wink.gif

Stay tuned wink.gif
