I've been searching A LOT the last few weeks before posting anything and have have come across the EDM rear fog light several times.
Now, my question is.... does the Australian market rear light assembly come plug and play ready for a rear fog light add-on? If yes, factory or aftermarket? If not, would it be possible to retrofit some bulbs/bayonet/harness to the existing rear light assembly without absolutely busting the housing? |

As I know (and as I found many years ago ) is OZ market Celica mix of JDM and US model. So I do not expect it is ready for rear foglight (US or Japan do not have it as mandatory equipment). You can confirm this assumption really easily: turn headlights on and go check rear lights. Are there 4 bulbs (in total si two on the left and two on the right) on? I am correct. Are there 2 bulbs on? There is EDM harnes inside already .
Now to second part of your question: can it be retrofited? Yes it can . Since I have JDM model and in Europe is rear foglight madatory I did that on my Celica. It is easy job and in fact there are many ways how to do that. EDIT: eight years ago (shoit... time flyes lol) I had exactly opposite issue. How to make EDM market lights looking like JDM market lights . See my old topic http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=34090 ...and here is one of my very first pictures shared . It is described how it works on EDM model: This post has been edited by malpaso: Aug 6, 2014 - 3:03 AM -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

Do you have any info on how to retrofit rear fogs to JDM tails like you did? Did you just put the tail/break light in the first red lens after the turning signal and the fog behind the reflector red lens? i find it funny how toyota managed to leave that little imprint on the a/c panel for markets that didn't' even require the rear fog I know right! That's what had me thinking about all this in the first place! |

The harness and bulb holder is all there, you just need to run a couple of wires from the dash to the rear to control the new bulbs, and retrofit a switch. -------------------- SOLD :( 1997 ST204 Celica ZR -----> See it here on 6GC! 2013 October Celica of the Month XD Now: '00 NB8B Mazda MX5 -----> See it here in off topic! |
