Car drives great up till about 60mph. Between 60&80mph car feels like it's going to shake into a million pieces. Then once you hit85,90,100..etc. it feels like your just floating down that road.

Common issue? Anyone else have this problem? Could it be. Wheels/tires? Alignment? Suspension?

Thanks

I've heard of this before, and I think there's handful of things that could cause this, however the only I can think of off the top of my head that would forsure cause this is a bent wheel. Not saying that's exactly what's causing the issue, but you could start looking there.

I had considered that. Next time I have a couple days off I'll get the car on some jacks and I guess start from there.

Take the front tires and have them balanced, if the wheel is bent they will tell you.

Currently a similar issue between 80-100km/h with other symptoms in between.
I'm taking mine in for a full vehicle test and inspection tomorrow inlcuding road testI'll let you know the results which may help to eliminate your problem.

But you may be right about alignment, i have my suspicion that my issue may partly be the same.

Oh awesome. Deffinately let me know how it goes. To me it just kind of seems like alignment wouldn't be something that would smooth out at such high speeds.?

from what i've heard sometimes it does...
i'm hoping that it's just alignment and suspension and not the gear box or diff....$$$
Have you checked you're engine mounts? Mine were fubar and since i changed them shaking went from violent to moderately severe.
I will update tomorrow.

Checked engine mounts, all in good condition. One less thing it could be.

Get an alignment.
My car was fine, but then I had to replace one tie rod end. Got it pretty close to spec when putting the new one on, but it's slightly off. Up to 60mph it's fine, but between 60mph and 80mph, there's a slight shake in the steering wheel now.

Wow that sounds exactly like what's happening to mine, steering wheel shakes violently. Guess it's time to get my alignment done. Good opportunity to replace my bald tires as we'll tongue.gif

make sure you get your wheels balanced as well as aligned.
Apparently that's what's wrong with mine, but they said the cv shafts are off and need replacing too.
Considering these are 15-20 yearold cars we're talking about unless it has had major service in the last 100,000 kilometres just about all the major performance components should be checked and replaced accordingly anyway.

Ill update again once ive had my wheels and such done
