My girl and my car decided enough was enough two weeks ago. I'm sad about the girl but its gonna be hard to get over it without my 'vert!
The mechanic thinks its the ECU; he says, "The ICM control signal (IGT) square wave fails as the engine fails. AC signal from crank sensor good at PCM." The part number is 89661-2D690, but he also says $900+ for the part. Can anyone offer suggestions for getting my Celica up and running again - for preferably a lot less money? |

Search out eBay and local junkyards, you'll either need a '94-95 ECU or a '96-99 ECU depending on the year range your cars falls into. You'll also need the ECU to match the transmission, either automatic or manual.

Also watch the 'Part-Out' threads on this forum and other Celica forums. There are a lot of people who have swapped the stock motor out and they've got that ECU just sitting there on their shelf, and they'll give it to you for $70 shipped. If you have an ODBII you just need one from a 1996-99 with the same motor and transmission you have, and if you've got the California emissions or Federal.
And it's just plug and play, it'll take <1 hr to change out even if you have no idea what your doing. -------------------- Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.
