hi everyone.
I bought my st205 directly from japan 2years ago when i got the car i had to replace the front shocks with KYB's cause the original ones where far gone. the car had always been a little lower on the right side then on the left so i thought that the spring might also be worn out. So a month or 2 ago i installed some tein lowering springs and now the front suspension is knocking so hard, its a shame to drive the car around town ![]() has anyone else had this problem with their 205? my car has done 127k kms so i think the superstrut might be needing a replacement... is it best to replace all of the lower arms and fig 8's or will i be ok if i just put new joints and bushes in? thank you, Bram |

The bushes in superstrut suspension are not replaceable.
There are two simple tests for SS to check what's worn out. If the front wheels are on you can try rotating the wheels back and forward, there should be no movement within the wheel arch. If there is get an assistant to try the same, while he/she is doing this you need to hold one of three places, put your hand on the joint between the shock and figure 8' if you feel movement here while the wheel is being moved then the figure 8s are gone and need replacing, then move your hand to the join between the fig8 and the lower arm, if you feel movement here then the lower arms are gone. For cost sake I would only replace what you need to. If these are worn or not I don't see how it will affect the ride height, have you tried swapping the springs over see if the low side swaps over? Would rule out faulty or mis matched springs if the ride height remained the same. -------------------- |

Not tried the arms from GT4 Racing. I am not keen on refurbished parts or those solid bushes.
Do you have pictures of the suspension without the wheels on? This post has been edited by Nial: Aug 11, 2014 - 12:55 PM -------------------- |

Do you have pictures of the suspension without the wheels on? ok, no but i can take a few tomorrow if u want. does the rear suspension often fail? i didn't really think of this at first but the rear suspension might also be the cause for sagging on the right |

It's not a common problem, but anything is possible, it could be a snapped spring but the rear arms etc are pretty reliable. Even if a bush is worn away it still would have little effect on the ride height.
If you can take a few pictures...from underneithe as well, it might help diagnose what the problem is. -------------------- |
