Indeed they are. Cafe Du Monde obviously sells the mix, it's in a large coffee tin like container and I'd think maybe some stores in the area might sell it too. Gives you something to make at four in the morning.

I still haven't been able to convince myself to give the older gentleman a call, even though I know I should sell it. I should've never bought it, but I never expected to find one in decent shape for the money. Even now looking on the statewide Craigslist people are wanting what I paid for mine for their beat up car that doesn't even run... If I had a shop or at least a stable driveway I'd probably just rip out the TH350 and rebuild it, o.e. master kit from ATP is only $80 then you can spend up to $225 for the top end Alto kit. I asked this last weekend when I saw my step-dad and he still remembers how to rebuild the TH350/400 etc...but I'd probably buy a rebuild guide to follow along with just to be safe.

Another thought I've had is finding a third gen with a carbureted/TBI 305 with the T5, and then transplanting my motor into it. The motor is great, whoever built it did a fantastic job and to be as built as it is it runs smoothly with no issues since setting it up and going to 93 and cold air induction. If anything I think I might miss the motor just as much as the car, from everything I've found online through various site builds and articles it should be in the 450 hp range but I guess they're posting gross output since it's on a dyno stand without all accessories etc... I'd say it's probably around 350 net hp though, which is still a huge improvement over the 170 hp of the TBI 305 and the 225 hp of the TPI 305. Of course I'm sure mileage would still be abysmal despite being in a lighter and more aerodynamic car with better gearing... That or I could just get a 4th gen, but then engine access is straight up sadistic. More or less I want a V8 manual two door with A/C and the clutch has to be hydraulic, so that pretty much leaves the third and fourth gen F-body and C4 Corvette. I wish I had the money for a C5 or GTO, but alas I don't.

If you've never used Meguirs M7 glaze I can not say enough good things about it on a black car. I like to top it with M21 and M26 in that order. The M7 makes the black paint much much deeper black and works with the M21 to really conceal small imperfections in the paint. The M26 gives a really high gloss shine on top of it.

I like Meguiar's, they're probably my favourite off the shelf brand. Very good products and really not any more expensive than the other brands. Turtle Wax has their gallon of soap for $5 and change though, which is great for cars with not perfect paint. Here lately my brother bought some Chemical Guys brand soap off Amazon, it looks and smells like lemon pudding, and I've been impressed with it.

Also riddle me this. Why does a 90's Ford F-150 have a hydraulic clutch, but the Mustang doesn't? That logic.

I still pine for a 924/944, but I'm still uneasy about the idea of owning one. I'd like a 928 as well, but the fears multiply with that one even over the 924/944. I was looking not too long ago and you can get a nice 80's 924 for not much money at all. If it weren't for the whole weird transaxle ordeal I'd maybe take the dive.

The SHO was never faster than the GT, it was on par during the SHO's peak and the Fox body's slump though. Then there was the Cobra to ensure the Mustang was quicker if just by a hair. Once the SN95 came along and the SHO went to auto only that pretty much ended it. Now the base Mustangs until '99 are just laughable and deserve to be put out of their misery.

What's funny is from '96-98 a V6 F-body would run even with the Mustang GT, and if the Mustang were an auto while the F-body were a manual it'd end up with the Mustang owner crying into their beer afterwards. Not to mention that V8 for V8 Ford was dominated from '93-02, with exception of the '03-04 SVT Cobra that came after the F-body being killed. But hey, a win is a win right?
