In 1993 the SHO ran faster 0-60 and faster 1/4 than the GT. (even the Probe ran faster than the GT that year). The 5.slow was a pretty sad motor in stock form, they do well blown and built though. One of our customers has a nice blown 5.0 in a 95 that's built to race and race hard all day. Ran a mid 10 a few times usually high 10's and low 11's because he doesn't want to wear the car out, it's mostly street driven. He's looking for someone to buy it btw....
Today I went and did an errand then coming back noticed my radio reception was real ****ty (listening to a NPR story about GM). I glanced back and saw my antenna laid back almost flat at 70 which isn't normal. Got home and the wire inside the rubber base had broken. Oh well, order another for $6 and put the S2K antenna on in the mean time. -------------------- |

From what I found the fastest SHO was 6.6 to 60 and the slowest Fox was around that too, quarter mile was 15 flat for the SHO and the Fox was like 14.8-9. The '93 GT they detuned in order to make the '94 SN95 look better. The '93 Cobra would've been faster but production numbers were always so low with them. I wouldn't mind a SN95 if it had a hydraulic clutch conversion, Which they use the T5 so I'd think the slave off a third gen F-body should work, and it'd just be a matter of figuring out the master and some lines.
Today I'm considering calling the older gentleman, but I can't quite convince myself. I just wish I had a safe place to do remove the transmission and somewhere inside/clean to do the rebuild. Considering the cost of the rebuild kits I'd be better for it rather I kept it or ended up selling it. I keep waiting to walk outside and see a T56 installed but that's yet to happen for some reason. I don't even know what I'd replace it with, it'd be back to deciding between a 3rd/4th gen F-body mostly or something like another MKIII or whatever other RWD Japanese sports car that catches my fancy. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

I braved the humid heat and installed the new trunk light I made earlier for the Celica. Nice and bright, but I wish it had a little more lateral spread. It won't rattle like the old one though so that's an improvement. Been hunting down my rattles one by one and fixing them, the trunk light was one and the trunk cover another, both are now taken care of so it'll be a nicer quieter ride. I need to get the pass door panel off and install some screws where the plastic spot welds broke that hold the cubby to the door panel, I tried to re-melt them but they just broke again so time to screw it. Then there's one up by the sunroof controls and one on the driver door or B pillar.

The humid heat is just too damn much. 96º with a "real feel" of 112º and the house A/C can't keep up in the middle of the day, I am tired of Summer. Feel like Hell as it is and have issues getting things done, don't need any hindrance from the climate...

Yep, been like that here today too, it's down to 76 now but still thick humidity. I left my place at 80 all day but it's relatively dry inside so it feels cooler compared to outside. I can do a dry 80 no problem, I'll turn it down a little to sleep over night though.

I'm ok with dry heat, humid heat makes it hard to get anything done since the sweat never evaporates.

Finally installed my exhaust on the Supra. Super stoked now cuz I don't have to worry about yelling at passengers to talk to them.

Also apparently the one off eBay had messaged me Sunday night and I didn't realize until today I went to search for parts on my phone and it showed I was signed out... Apparently he's still really wanting the Miata and now I don't know what to do. Sell the Miata and put towards the Firebird, sell the Firebird and fix the Miata, sell them both and just start over, or fix both and use the Miata as a daily and keep the Firebird as a weekend deal. I hate decision making, and the only thing worse is making multiple choices at once. I'm so bad at making choices and no matter how long I mull it over I end up regretting it regardless if it was the right choice or not. Yes, I was that child that'd sit at story progression choice selections in RPG's for thirty minutes at a time. I'm still that way. There must be some kind of disorder or something.

Maybe if it had working A/C and didn't drink more than Charlie Sheen out of rehab I'd be more compelled, that and sinking money into an automatic doesn't get me jumping for joy either.
Probably the logical thing to do given my condition is to sell them both and buy either a third/fourth gen F-body, C4 Vette, another MKIII Supra, SC300, or a 280Z(X). Something decent on power and economy and wide enough for me to be comfortable in. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

To Hell with it, messaged guy back on eBay and setting up a time for him to buy the Miata. Guess will call the other guy about the Firebird and see if can't work something out from there as well. I need something that gets at least mid 20's, has working A/C, and is comfortable enough for me to be in. So pretty much the cars from above.

Corolla XRS? Has interior room and the fire breathing 2ZZ-GE everyone loves to hate. Or a later model XRS with the 2.4L 2AZ-FE is viable as well. If you want to hide the sin of owning a 'damn foreign car' down there then you can pick up a Pontiac Vibe GT though we'll never stop teasing you about the name.

Speaking of funny car names, I have considered getting a Ford Probe and then slamming it into the back of someone just so I could frame the police report.
I've thought about maybe another FWD car and if I were to it'd be like a 7GC GT-S, Integra GS-R, RSX Type-S, or an Acura Legend Coupe. Of that group the Legend would be ideal with its 230 hp 3.2 V6 and 6-speed, I'd more or less consider it the FWD equivalent of the SC300 in terms of spec and rarity. Really just not feeling FWD though. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

My step cousin had a V6 Silver 5spd Probe that was nick named 'the silver suppository' around the town he lived in.
