I really need to stop looking at MKIII Supras. It was my first and second car and I've always wanted another one... I just look at them and the ideas flow of what I'd like to do with one. No other car really does that for me. Well, aside from the Firebird anyway. After thinking about it I've narrowed it down to the MKIII Supra, SC300, and 4th gen Firebird. I just can't convince myself to spend money on a SC400 that would buy a Firebird with the T56.

I really want a black hardtop LT1/T56 Formula...

So much sleekness. I like the LS1 cars too, but they really are on the ostentatious side. I just love how sleek and smooth the LT1 Formula is, that's it I've made my mind up. I guess if any other colour that's not red were to come up that'd be ok too. The blues, teals, and purples were really nice and would be on par with black, and purple would be first choice but it's incredibly rare. Just one blacked out and lowered a little would be so awesome looking though. To me the LT1 birds just have that timeless futuristic look, especially in darker colours. I just hope my knee cooperates for a few years at least. I guess worst case I could always get cortisone injections...

I think Darth Vader would definitely have a Firebird before a revamped Caprice, and definitely before some Volkswagen thingymabob. Car manufacturers trying to put Darth Vader into a family sedan is just wrong, on just so many levels.

627 views and 6 watchers, so far no one making offers or sending messages. Suppose it'll probably be the last day or two like it was with the Miata. Have already started my search for a T56 Formula. Sadly my ideal car sold about two months ago on eBay for $5,100 as it was a '96 black on grey hardtop T56 Formula. Was in really nice shape with under 100K miles on it too. I guess it's good to know they're out there, just wish the timing was better.

Had someone offer me a '91 Camaro RS that had been swapped out to a TBI 350 in lieu of the 305. Sadly it's an auto, if it were a 5-speed car and a hardtop I'd consider it. Had it been a Firebird/Trans Am on top of those things I'd have to highly consider it. I like the '91-92 Firebird a lot too, with the Banshee inspired front end that transitioned into the LT1 cars.

Well was searching eBay locally to see if anything was out there by chance and came across this in Ozark, AL: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-Trans-Am-/...em=201394826769

I know the earlier cars are more rare and all, but really wow...

820 views and 8 watchers now, still no one contacting me. Which I rarely ever get questions since I try to put everything in the listing.

Contemplating the LT1 Z28 as I like them too, and they're easier to find in general and especially as a hardtop:

Black with light covers and it's very sleek too. I like the LT1 Camaro, would really want in black if were to get one though. Another benefit is the Camaro is usually a few hundred dollars cheaper than a comparable Firebird. Which to be honest I don't like how the backend of the Firebird is done with how it slopes and just rolls off, it's really noticeable with the highrise spoiler and the lowrise kind of hides it but it's not the best looking. It reminds me of a second gen without a spoiler, and that's not a good thing. Which I've been looking into things and I'd like to get some Strano springs and Koni struts and shocks for it as a starting point. Then look into sway bars and watts link perhaps.

Well, up to 1,036 views and 13 watchers now. I guess things look somewhat promising at the moment, still just waiting to get some offers or messages asking to see it.

Also it turns out the Firebird Formula had the hardtop as an option until 2000 or so, which I've seen them before but was unsure about the year range. LS1 or LT1... This would be easier had the cosmetics been an improvement, at least with the Firebird they didn't make it worse I guess. I like the basic LS1 Firebird as well:

Just more curvy than it is sleek. I don't know why I like the LT1 front so much, but it must be a beauty in simplicity kind of thing I suppose. I also like the exhaust note of the LT1 more and that it comes as OBDI, but the LS is a better platform and is easier to do work on from what I hear. I do know the LS1 optics are better, independent sealed beams versus sealed dual beam. Wooooo..... tongue.gif

Wooo new door strikers! Also woo is someone on eBay out of Georgia sent a $3,000 offer on the Firebird not too long ago. Thinking about countering with $4,000 which we all know where that'll probably end up at, $3,500. I don't know, I guess there's some sick and twisted part of me that hoped no one would want it so I'd be forced to keep and fix it. Suppose even after five days of having it officially for sale I'm just not entirely ready...

My memory really does suck, then again I can't remember the last I actually slept either. Just now remembered had the offer and needed to respond, countered with 4 so will see how that goes. There's still that part of me that doesn't want to sell it because I know I'll want another some day. Maybe I'll magically come into lots of money soon and I can just take it to one of those big fancy restoration shops and go all out.

Sell the firebird. Buy something that doesn't need work. From your situation it sounds like the best idea. Maybe even to settle on an automatic car too.

Well technically the Firebird really didn't need work when it was bought, and we see how that went. I know, I need to sell it as I won't be able to fix it myself unless I miraculously feel better. That and the whole no A/C and low teens on 93 thing, that and 70's safety technology. Also turns out my idea of manually shifting the SC400 all of the time won't be good for it or whatever according to some that own it, so that nixes that. I'll be looking for a T56 fourth gen I suppose, maybe a SC300 or MKIII Supra if the right one popped up but I haven't seen a decent one with a manual in ages.

Cleaned the trunk of the Celica and added some sound damping to maybe dull the highway drone a little. Spare tire well was like a drum so I added some in some spots there and to the rear bulkhead and floor. Not a lot but hopefully enough.
