Just watch the sensitivity and ohm on the dayton speaker, it may not sound like anything running off 20W from the head unit. A small external amp to power speakers or an all in one like a BassLink would do lots of good in a small cabin like that. In my Celica the BassLink provides ample bass for my tastes, it's not SUPER loud but it's deep. If my car is idling in the driveway with the doors closed I can hear the sub in the house with it at a pretty normal listening volume. I think that may be an affect of 'room gain' from the garage condensing the bass through the door to the house and into the house down the hall way like an acoustical chamber. I noticed when I had a sound system with sub corner loaded in the guest room it would send music through the ENTIRE house, even out of line of sight with the room and with great fidelity. Acoustics are cool. Amazing how a sub in the corner of my hatch in the Celica with the seats up sounds loud in the cabin of the car but is pretty quiet outside the car. Unless my windows are down you don't really hard it loud outside. I like it.

I think the ones he found were were lower wattage meant for use with head units, but I'll double check and do a little searching of my own. I just want presence and range, I don't need to be heard a mile away. Which from what I can find the speakers in the quarter panels are 6.75" 2-ohm DVC woofers that're powered with an amp separate from the speakers and tweeters in the doors and hatch.

Radio looks good.

I spoke correctly. I screwed the can tap onto a can to make sure it fit the can and tightened all the way, not paying attention the pin wasn't fully retracted. So I had to charge in 12oz of 134a to my system, I got pretty much all 12 in there, but it's too cold outside to put enough heat load on the system to get it charged by pressure correctly. Seems to be leak free though, but leak wasn't my problem, high highside pressures were my problem which I think was due to missing 1/2 the fins on my condenser.

Thanks, sounds good too. tongue.gif For some reason the hatch speakers and tweeters were replaced with a coaxial set so will be replacing them, brother found a 4" woofer and a tweeter from Dayton Audio that's supposed to be really good.

Ahhh ok gotcha, that's lame. I would say hopefully it'll be warm up there soon but it's 51º here as I speak.

http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-...-4-ohm--295-378 Those? They're not very sensitive. Which means they won't be very loud or make much sound per watt driven into them.

Yeah I need to change the Firebird's oil soon even though it still looks and feels ok, found a window sticker from the last oil change on Sunday and it's a few hundred miles and years overdue. laugh.gif Which if anything though just goes to show how clean the inside of the engine is. Which I was planning a change soon anyway and picked up a Mobil 1 filter the other day.

Also decided to say screw spending well over twice as much as it'd cost to get new tires for the original 16x8's just to get into 17x9's, and that the money would be better put towards stuff like suspension, sound system, exhaust, cold air intake, short shifter, etc... It'd be different if the 16's were ugly, in bad shape, or you couldn't get good tires any more. I am thinking about painting them though, just not sure as to what yet.

Car looks great! I'm glad it turned out so well especially given what happened, hopefully it kind of balances things out. Side note why is the Impreza about to lose its rear wheels? tongue.gif

I think you should hit that intercooler with some matte or satin black paint so it's logo doesn't stand out so much.

Today I bought this to use this weekend while cleaning it:

Tested the heat the other night and noticed the ducts could use deodorizing. Also picked up a CR2032 to put into the remote my father had leftover from his Z28, just need to program it to my car. I've never had a car with a remote, I won't know what to do with myself.

I have one car with and one without. It really doesn't bother me that much either way, the Celica's door lock motors died and were dead for a while before I fixed them. I'm used to the key, remote unlock is kind of a fun gimmick but I can live without. The only time I like it is when it's raining hard.

Oh and I need to re-adjust the driver side window to seal better against wind. I had to adjust it because it was sitting too tight and now it's a little too loose. Trial and error on that one...unless there's some specification or something I don't know about.

Lol. Thanks! So far so good with most of what's going on with the car. Just little bits and pieces to deal with when gluing it together.

That's just how the fitment is on her GC8 I guess? Must be a 2.5RS thing. She pulled the car out of the body shop before they can complete it so that she can have it for TX2K. It's back in now so they can finish it up. lol

That white M will actually wear off eventually. I can probably take a stiff brush to it and it'll come off. It was flaking off even just by being handled.....or I can just flip it around....and that would require removing the bumper.....aaannnddd....that in itself is kind of a b!tch....

DUDE! I'm going through this same issue with the Supra right now for the driver's side door. I think I got it, but it's not sealing completely up by the targa, but I'm starting to guess that it's the targa seals not sitting properly as the front and back of the glass is tight. I'm just taking blind stabs at where I think it should go.

Ye I'm so used to always using a key I'll probably forget about it at first, the biggest appreciation for it will be when it's raining and/or night.

The one downside to frameless windows is keeping them properly aligned and sealed. Speaking of which I need to remember to condition the door and hatch seals this weekend too, meant to do it last weekend but forgot after doing the back to black on the cowl piece and then adjusting the hood since it was off a little.

Glad to hear the M wears off, that would annoy me! I dusted my new AC condenser with black paint before installing so I don't have a big huge bright silver THING inside my otherwise black mouth on the car.

Yea, on my Celica, and probably your Supra too, there's little stops at the top of the door frame that set the upper limit on window travel. Mine was raised too high in the rear causing the window to slightly catch the drip edge of the door seal and then when rolled up it would pop and tick loudly going over bumps while driving. SUPER annoying! I dropped the front and rear slightly but now I think the front one is a little too low, so I need to pull the door panel and re-do. There's not a very good guide for it, so I guess I just adjust it till it closes without hitting the drip edge just barely (I'll put some layers of tape on the top of the glass to set a gap and adjust till the tape hits) then test drive it on the highway. Lucky I live like 5 minutes from a fairly empty highway, and the next exit is like 3 miles up the road so I can just go drive the same loop till I get it just right. My sunroof is also not adjusted correctly and has tons of wind noise too.
