It's awesome that she wants to get involved like that. Does she have a fun vehicle for herself yet? If not might be something else for you guys to do. Removed the sticker from the dealership the car was originally bought from. Some careful peeling, Liquid Wrench, and quick wax later it's like it was never there. Removed the baked Formula sticker from the headlight cover, not so much luck there as the adhesive had eaten into the paint... ![]() We have other projects to tinker with, She used to mod her tc, now we got her a 16 corolla s special edition, shes going to be hitting the mod bug once the wedding is over. I still have my 1st gen monte i tinker with from time to time. Going to be focusing on it once the other concrete pad is laid and built up |

The wish list for the wedding is full of car parts isn't it?
![]() Wheels arrived in Nashville via FedEx at noon, so they should be at my door tomorrow or Saturday by the latest. Between the serpentine belt, cold air intake, and then wheels I have plenty to do this weekend. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Fun once it's all done anyway.
![]() What's sad is 9.5" front and back isn't even that wide and it won't be flush: ![]() -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

nice! I like those.
should just pair them with some spacers. how much more do u need for flushness? -------------------- ![]() *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

Thanks, I might get them on later this afternoon if the weather plays nice but they'll definitely go on tomorrow if not.
Ehh let's see, should be about 20mm in the front and 40mm in the rear now as it sits now. That's why even with 11's all around you still need a spacer in the back if you want to be flush, unless you use the 36mm offset in the rear instead of the 56mm all around anyway. Of course I plan on lowering it in the near future so that changes the clearances somewhat, so I won't really worry about it at the moment. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Nevermind they don't fit. Apparently '93-96 are spedecial and have different rear hub sizes, I hate GM.
Well apparently I can either grind the hub or rims since they're lug centric, I still hate GM. This post has been edited by Box: Apr 23, 2016 - 8:40 PM -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Mr. Dremel will take care of the rear hubs tomorrow. GM finally cared enough to fix it in '97 though, just one of those things that reminds me why I prefer Japanese cars.

I learned the hard way last night about why I hate my accord when I was trying to change out my brake rotors. So apparently for the Accords from '94 to about 2002, Honda thought it would be funny to sandwich the rotor between the hub and the knuckle, so in order to change the rotors, you have to pull the hub out and disconnect the axle. I was wondering why the rotors I ordered had a big, gaping hole in the middle compared to most conventional rotors. After spending 6 hours trying to fight the hub off, I said, "Eff it" and put everything back together and I'm just gonna let my mechanic have fun with it. Ain't nobody got time fo dat! -------------------- -Alex {](O_o)[}

Changing rotors on the F-bodies is a royal pain from what I've heard, not looking forward to it or changing the spark plugs to say the least. The Accord doesn't count anyway, it was made for the U.S. market in mind and was made in Ohio.
![]() Anyhow got stuff finished today: ![]() ![]() The engine does seem happier with it over the retardedness that was the factory setup. Then this happened: ![]() 16x8 next to the 17x9.5, amazing what another 1.5" can do. Then lots of Dremel bits and time grinding the rear hubs... ![]() Fills out the wheel wells better, meant to take a picture from the back then forgot so will have to do that tomorrow. I know some don't like the sawblades but I like them, they match the styling of the car at least. Sometime in the near future I need to get around to polishing out the lips, modifying the center caps, and then possibly paint the centers in anthracite or black. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Haha OK, old tires are junk. Just having newer aged rubber makes a massive difference but those are also a better rubber compound with more rubber on the road to boot. Win/Win/Win.

Yup hard to argue with newer better rubber and more of it, can't wait to drive it tomorrow as by the time everything was done and put up it was time to start on dinner. I couldn't find a date code on the original tires but I found a receipt for a set of g-Force T/A's from 2006 so replacing them was a top priority for me. Which at the very least I knew they were six years old as that's how long they said it had been sitting in the garage. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed
