I guess I can get one started later tonight with everything I've done so far and future plans.

ProCharger has discontinued their kit for it coincidentally. These days I imagine you're probably better off going with a LS3/LS7 versus working with the LT1 or even the LS1 for that matter if you're wanting more than what heads, cam, and intake can do. Which I guess you're being facetious but really the stock power is sufficient at the moment, might do a LT4 Hot Cam or the like in the future but it'd be more for the exhaust sound than anything else. tongue.gif

Cam and a compression bump along with a remapped ECU would make that a lot more fun. The LT1 isn't so bad, just down on power and doesn't rev up smoothly, sounds good though I do agree.

The LT1 is the traditional small block Chevrolet's swan song, I know some hate it but I like it for that reason alone. The LT4 itself made 330 hp at 5,800 rpm and 345 ft lbs of torque at 4,500 rpm versus the base LT1 that made 285 hp at 5,000 rpm and 325 ft lbs of torque at 2,400 rpm. So there's definitely some room for improvement top end wise, which the LT4 also had different heads and intake along with the cam and rockers though. Really the exhaust, if MagnaFlow would ever get off their butt and restock the muffler I want, will be the last of the "power adder" mods for awhile. The only time I can use it all on the street is getting onto the interstate and even then going all out I'll be speeding considerably by the time I finish merging. It's a welcome change and funny to think it hits 60 about twice as quickly as the Celica and Miata did.

Washed then waxed the car with Surf City spray wax, looks noticeably better but I still need to get around to clay barring and using the Meguiar's Black wax paste. Not sure how I will though since I barely finished using the spray wax before collapsing and dying. Then again in my defense I also did my mom's Challenger as an early Mother's Day gift before getting to the Firebird. They're both long and wide, and the Challenger is tall and just a big car for a coupe. Damn you America, damn you!!! *collapses*

I had pulled the driver door panel to fix my window alignment issue and now have a slight buzz/rattle at certain bass frequencies just below the sail panel under the door panel. Probably the plastic vapor barrier got knocked out of place and is vibrating. TIME TO PULL THE DOOR PANEL AGAIN! This time I'm going to mist the whole plastic with spray adhesive and stick it on there good. If it's a light mist it's removable so no big deal, I need to repair the door stay so maybe I'll do both at the same time!

Duct seal putty works well for those plastic vapor barriers, I hate the goopy crap most manufacturers use as it gets everywhere and is a pain to clean off.

yea but I have the spray adhesive and I know where it is. I'll get around to it later today or later this week, I'm still lazing around. I like taking the Celica out to meets but daily driving it to and from work where it sits out and gets filthy in a day from dust, not so much fun.

If I'd had a little more room to play with I could have had some fun sliding it around a left hand turn, but the Celica in front of me was a little slower.

That's true. Having a black car I kind of just expect it to be dirty within an hour of washing it. The Celica in front of you obviously shouldn't have been in front. tongue.gif

Helped brother with coil-overs today. I'd like to say that went well and technically it did, but he had called and asked on which shock body he needed on the rear to achieve the drop he wanted and the guy mislead him. Long story short there's the standard Genesis shock body and then a FR-S shock body that allows for more drop but won't go as high, my brother stated he wanted to tuck tire and the guy was like, "Oh the standard is on our shop car and it goes plenty low in the rear, it'll tuck tire." so that's what he went with. Fast forward almost two weeks and after setting the rear as low as it'll go the fender just barely covers the highest point of the tire, hardly what even I would call "tucking tire". So of course he's not happy about doing all the work to get them on only for them to not give the height he wanted, that and he was just going to get the FR-S shock body but the guy talked him out of it. The front has plenty of height travel left and it's a little too low, in my opinion, but it's where he wants it.

Anyhow on the bright side I just scored a 5'x5' cut of VVIVID XPO gunmetal carbon fiber wrap for $25 shipped, not bad considering I was looking at spending $19 shipped for a 5'x2' section for just for the dash cap. Now I'll have a 5'x3' section left over to do stuff like the A/C and radio surround and probably the door handle cups and window switch panels to tie it all in. I hate doing the fake carbon thing, but anything is better than cheap GM plastic and risking the dash cap turning into Humpty Dumpty.

It was worth it, tons of fun, I wish she'd been going all out though because I know there's no way I'd have kept up and that just makes it that much more fun. I'm kind of pissed though, the dash cam flaked on me some and I have a TON of compression blocking on the videos!

I hate it when I'm right. The dashboard was one good pothole or a subwoofer installation away from turning into Humpty Dumpty. What started as one small crack has turned into a cluster, even had brother helping on the passenger side and as we were deciding on the best way to navigate it out it cracked under its own weight... Which I know why they're so prone to cracking now, it's the same crappy type of plastic that's been around the 60's and 70's. Really GM? Using plastic was bad enough, but did you really have to cheap out so much as to not use ABS plastic? mad.gif

That's ok to add insult to injury the plastic reacted weird with the fiberglass resin so nothing set right... I HATE GM. More precisely I hate the cheap bastard that approved using a 5 foot by 2 foot chunk of cheap plastic under the world's largest mobile magnifying glass.

I hate how cheap gm did their interiors. Kinda remind me of my old 7th gen celica interior. Cheap and ugly
