No room to put anything anywhere useful, anything would be slung too low to be of any real use. I do have a nice LED thing that's been collecting dust but I'm not sure how much it would help or hurt. I suppose I should just do something with it eventually, may as well use it on the Celica since I don't want it destroyed by winter on the Mazda.

I know that feeling. I'd imagine with HID lows and 9011 highs it has to have pretty decent illumination though? Then again I've noticed more is never enough, get adjusted so quickly it's like meh this sucks ignoring the fact it's considerably better than when you started upgrading. Though once the CandlePower bulbs arrive that's pretty much the pinnacle for me outside of making a HID setup of some sort.

That speedy prep clay bar cloth thing is absolutely amazing. All the results of clay with none of the work. Spray with lube/detail spray, wipe back and forth, rub the cloth with your hand and some spray, wipe back and forth, dry the panel, smooth smooth paint like clay bar but none of the work of clay bar. It can't really get into the details that clay can get into but for the large areas it's amazing how fast it works and how good the results are. I'm so glad I bought it.

Turns out I jinxed my brother the other day, new ballast for his HIDs went out. In better news my bulbs shipped out first class USPS so they'll arrive sometime this week, then I get to throw those in. Also did some half assed photoshopping and I'll do the center of the rims in gloss black since dark grey just didn't look right with the car being black, now it's just a matter of doing it. I still need to try and find some blank center caps that fit since the Corvette logo is kind of out of place now.

I'll have to remember that then. I still need to do mine but it seems like every time I wash it there's a new trouble spot so it's almost like why even bother. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

It's so very shiny and clean now, it was supposed to storm today so I took it instead of the Celica. Not a cloud in the sky, probably won't rain at all. The paint though feels like touching soft glass, I could touch it all day. I put some of the Car Pro glaze on the hood to add some more gloss to it, looks better but it needs real work, I need to just suck it up and get a real buffer and set of pads and quit being a cheap skate. That way I can buff out all of the fine scratches and swirls and really get it looking amazing, the boss compliments it now and it inspired him the clean up his wife's car.

Having a buffer and orbital makes life considerably easier, really the biggest deterrent for me has been the clay barring but with the clay towel thing you bought that shouldn't be too bad either. After reminding myself it's 20 year old paint I should be happy it looks as good as it does, still the chips in the clear and paint are annoying since they just ruin otherwise still decent paint. Damn my OCD.

Clay barring seems like the most time consuming step, so it's definitely worth it to save a couple hours.
Bulbs will be arriving tomorrow, so I guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow afternoon provided the weather is decent. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

*walks into wall* Shouldn't have looked into the headlights. So for those interested it seems the CandlePower brand is made in China, which inherently is never the problem but the companies elsewhere, but they seem to be fairly well made as I noticed the filaments are nice and straight in the bulbs. Side by side during the day I could even notice the difference, was waiting for it to get dark to realign since I placed the black card table chair I was using in front and the new bulbs have a notably bigger beam pattern. After aligning will take a small test drive and try to get some pictures to update the project thread. I also noticed they don't seem to put off anymore heat really than the 60W/55W oddly enough.

Glad that turned out well!
I measured the pass side high beam voltage from stock wiring and it's 11.8 with a 13.2v battery, with the harness it's 12.6 with a 13.2v battery. That difference should become a little greater when the car is running around 13.8-14.2. I crunched the math and if I'm right (I'm probably not) I was missing about 600 lumen. -------------------- |

It really is uncanny how much a difference wiring can make. Now to force myself to measure out those H3 projector fogs to see if they'll work or I'm just eternally screwed on having fogs.
So dimensionally there's just enough room, but the way the bumper cutouts are they'll have to be angled inward like so / \ to fit ok. Which in a way is sort of a good thing anyway since they'd be installed primarily for shoulder illumination. Still have to look into how I'd even go about mounting them though. Today my wheels came. Sadly I only had enough time to put in the fronts. However I'm quite pleased with them. I think I'll get some taller tires though as there's little too much gap for my tastes

^ You got time to be online, get the flashlight out and show us all four down. The pair look nice though.
Very OT but it's an interesting shot, toolbox drawer got soaked so here are my small tools laid out to dry. ![]() This post has been edited by SwissFerdi: Sep 22, 2016 - 8:14 PM -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

I'm at work otherwise I would put them on. I'll get up early tomorrow and do it. And no lowering springs. I thought about it but I like the ride height for a daily.

I do know if you put earbuds or your phone into a plastic cup it'll amplify the sounds waves.
