Helped the secretary at work pick out a 2014 Sonata over a 2014 Camry, the heated seats and blindspot monitor won her over vs the Camry...also the Hyundai dealer would deal to the payment she needed to be at AND offered to let her demo the car for the weekend, the Toyota dealer wouldn't play ball, wouldn't even check her credit to see what finance rate she qualified for until AFTER she signed papers committing to buy. That sales person was super pushy, the Hyundai guy was nice, laid back, personable, and willing to make the deal to get the sale. All in all the Camry rode nicer but the price is right on the Sonata and that's what mattered more to her...also the much longer warranty really gives her peace of mind.

You sound like you've gone to work for Hyundai...

lol, it's got more stuff, costs less, and they would play ball. Really a no brainer! Camry she looked at was more expensive and didn't have heated seats or bsm. She's recovering from cancer (lifelong smoker, still ****ing smoking, I'm going to strangle her) and the heated seats really help with her legs when she's sitting for a long period of time driving, they go numb and she has a hard time getting out of the car and walking.

Well if anything ever goes wrong good luck on getting Hyundai to fix it. Google "Genesis transmission problems" and you'll see what I mean. I'm surprised there isn't a class action suit by now.

That's why she got a 14 Sonata, it's the same as the car they've been building for 5 years with the same 2.4L and and same 6spd automatic. They got great reliability statistics and she drives like an old lady...because she is one. Her 140,000 mile 02 Grand Prix was rusting away at the bottom under the skirts and the trans just started flaring in first gear, so it was time.

I'm just leery of anything Hyundai again, I guess it's still not as big of a heap as a Tiburon but still... I know here recently the EPA fined them some 300 million for falsifying their fuel economy ratings, and now 2015 and 2016 models will be audited.

Her 2014 isn't part of that, Ford got slapped with similar penalties as well recently. The Tibs were good when taken care of but most have not been taken care of. Comfy little car, good for road trips.

Please don't. I don't want to go back to those nasty old stock seats. I have to say though I kind of like owning a civic. The parts are cheap and small things make a big difference. I just wish the community was better.

Found a Mustang, hopefully will get to check it out tomorrow. More hopefully the clutch won't kill my knee.

2001. Already has K&N intake, long tubes, 3.73's, lowered, new clutch, new SVT Cobra radiator, and new American Racing wheels wrapped in 275/40/17 BF Goodrich tires. I keep reading mixed things about the clutch weight, so I guess I'll know soon enough.

Went and checked out an all original '96 Cobra at a local dealer today as it was much closer than the 2001, of course like I figured it's too much for my knee... The fourth time pushing the clutch in and letting it out my knee was already fluttering and popping as I let it out... Sad thing is I was wearing my brace too... Maybe the Maximum Motorsports quadrant along with a new OEM cable and clutch would help some, but probably nowhere near enough. F***ing sucks, it's what I really wanted...

Would the GT clutch be any easier? What about an fbody? I'm not sure how the clutches are on those but you might be able to work with it.

I looked it up and the Cobra clutch is maybe a pound heavier if that, so it won't make a discernible difference. The F-body has a hydraulic clutch, but I've heard they're supposed to be quite stiff as well. My grandfather's Silverado had a hydraulic clutch and it was heavy too, in fact that's why he ended up selling it. My brother ended up testing a 2012 Mustang GT and he said the clutch in it wasn't any heavier than what's in his Genesis, and it has a fairly light clutch. I guess I'll just get another Miata, that or a MR2 or 240SX.
