OK I finally got the correct tires for my 15 inch rims yesterday. Thanks Box for pointing those out to me. The RPM is now lowered and car feels planted. Speedo will be corrected as well. While searching I found that there are not very many 205-55-15 size choices out there. I went with Nitto 450 Extreme Performance tires. There were on sale at Discount Tire plus $75 dollars rebate.

Also did the exhaust (muffler) upgrade and sounds deep, not too loud.

Nice deal on tires.

I'm watching it snow all day, good thing I fired up the snow blower yesterday! I'll probably run it tonight so it's clear in the morning and I need to make sure I'm on the no salt list for the HOA.

Yeh I saw those but these guys gave me rebate and they were local so I jumped on it. I bought my wife's tires from them several months ago and they cut me a good deal as well.

Woo tires, glad could help.

Speaking of exhaust I just realized I never did a video for the Firebird.

Today I got a chance to drive on the highway on my way to work. i have a Garmin GPS so I was comparing speedometer and I noticed it dropped only one mile from last. Previously it was showing 80 on the speedo when GPS was showing 75 at 4200 RPM. Today it showed 77 mph on the GPS while the speedo show 80 at 4000 RPM. What do I need to do next to make it closer.
Thanks in advance.

Box, next mod list is intake ( I have been busy with house projects). Exhaust note is deep and low exactly how I wanted it.

Did you mean 75 mph on GPS while speedo shows 80 mph at 4200 rpm prior and 77 mph on GPS while speedo shows 80 mph at 4000 rpm now? At least that'd make more sense. As to why it's still off could be gauge calibration or speed sensor wear, BUT most manufacturers make the speedometer a little faster than what the car is actually doing so when someone looks down and sees they're doing 70 in a 70 they're really doing 68 or if like most people will do 5 over so in reality they're only a couple mph over.

So in trying to find a steering wheel without buttons I've never realized just how ugly of a steering wheel it is until now, though especially the base model wheels without buttons. The earlier Grand Prix is the same wheel and later Grand Prix wheels all have buttons and are possibly even uglier, so that leaves the wheel used in the '95-02 Sunfire and '94-97 Grand Am. So from start to end is the wheel like mine, base Firebird, Sunfire, and then the Vibe GT which I'd really like but fairly sure it'd take extensive modification since it's just a rebadged Toyota Matrix more or less:

I'm thinking the Sunfire wheel would work out nicely, that and it's hard to tell but I think the diameter is a little smaller and if so that'd be nice.

so Box, what is the fix for the speedo?

I would go with Martirx/vibe wheel if you could. I had a 2003 Matrix and this exact wheel was on it.

Like said earlier most speedometers, at least in older cars, are conservative and shows you're going faster than what you really are by 1-3%, so if you're doing 80 by the speedometer and if the GPS says you're doing 77 it's probably about right.

Also as suspected the Vibe wheel and any of the later Pontiac wheels would take work in terms of the steering shaft splines and the airbag. The Sunfire wheel is a direct swap though, so that'd still be an option to get rid of buttons and improve the general appearance somewhat.

Vibe/Matrix were all Toyota, I doubt that wheel would work, it's essentially a 9G Corolla/7G Celica wheel.

The Firebird's isn't that bad, I've been in worse that were Euro or Asian and of course other domestics.

Yeah I knew the Vibe was just a re-paneled Matrix so figured as much, but even later GM vehicles in general went to a different spline count. The wheel used in the Solstice would be neat with some button delete inserts:

Good to see you working on the Celica again, just painting the underside for now or is the rest ready for paint soon?

So I stopped to get fuel on the way home and a NA Miata had just pulled in before me to the side of the pump I always go to if it's open, got out and said I liked his Miata which I guess he thought I was being sarcastic since as soon as I said I used to have a NA6 his demeanor relaxed and said thanks. He said my car was sharp and then asked what it was, seemed somewhat surprised when I told him it was a Firebird Formula and that it had a 6-speed. Talked about the Miata some and how I'd like another some day then finished fueling up and went on my way home, I do miss having something like the Miata or Celica. Maybe instead of dumping lots of money into suspension I'll just get a second car.

Also I've found the world's best smelling odor eliminator and it's 100% natural without aerosol propellants(just uses compressed air I guess, but it sprays out nicely), it's called Pure Citrus: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url...rds=pure+citrus I went with original Orange, and it smells like fresh squeezed orange juice with the rinds over to the side. If this manages to kill odor and lasts will use it exclusively from now on since a lot of the chemical based ones can give me a headache, ran it through the air vents and then over the interior. Hopefully it smells nice and orangey tomorrow and for some time, or at least fresh anyway. It had rained heavily the last few days after being in a drought for over a month and it had gotten somewhat musky smelling even though it's not leaking anywhere, but frameless windows do such a crappy job of keeping condensation from forming which is the cause I suppose.

Swapped the 15" air horn onto the Mazda in place of the 12" it had, much louder! Need to work on re-doing the wiring and relay over the next few days.

This is 'the horn', buy it, install it, honk it.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131584371789?_trks...K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Same one as my Celica has, extremely loud and gets your point across quickly, you KNOW they hear you even if they ignore it.

Saw an add for an AE92 today. If its still there this weekend I think I'm going to go pick it up. I need something to drive so I can take the Celica apart.

This guys near MU, the add says "was changing timing belt and can't get it to run right now. $500"
You don't happen to know where I can find a manual for a 4AGE do ya?
