What if I told you that I literally just found out a couple of days ago that I have permission to go to TX2K? Turns out I just didn't ask in time...

I asked if I could go to TX2K next year and she responds "I'm surprised you aren't there right now." Friggin' heck.

This is the Midwest. They're often the same person here.

Not in my case, but I'm just saying.

No, that's just a southern/central Indiana/Illinois thing...and parts of Michigan. Those UP'ers are a weird bunch.

Keep in mind I live about 10 minutes away from the Kentucky border. I see some strange stuff all the time.

Bolted my solid strut tower brace down on the Celica when I got home and fixed the rotation on my passenger side projector on the Mazda. Was going to drive the Celica but storms were looming and temps dropped off real fast once it rained, so now it's 43 and wet, not Celica weather.

Bi-xenon fogs, interesting. Hopefully you can make them fit easily enough.

I might be able to and if I do it'll be interesting, I got wiring pretty much figured out, I'll need a $30 custom switch though but that's OK, it goes right into the stock dash opening so that pleases my OCD.

Thanks for the info! Gives me options to think about. I'm completely in love with the SC. I sold it to a friend and I had to buy it back. Only vehicle out of my close to triple digits ownership of vehicles. It's a 93. Cost doesn't really matter to me for this car. I don't plan on selling it ever again. As far as cost coming into vette territory, if I found one I honestly liked I would go for it just to say I had one, but not keep for the long haul

QUOTE (Box @ Mar 16, 2017 - 2:39 AM) *
Did some looking around for no particular reason and there are kits to use the Z32 5-speed as well and I know they're a strong transmission, plus the the gear ratios of the Z33 6-speed aren't as well suited to a torquey V8 in my opinion. Ratios here for the Z32 and Z33 respectively:
1st: 3.214
2nd: 1.925
3rd: 1.302
4th: 1.000
5th: 0.752

1st: 3.794
2nd: 2.324
3rd: 1.624
4th: 1.271
5th: 1.000
6th: 0.794

As far as using the LSD out of a Supra TT your options are 3.266(manual cars) or 3.769(auto cars) on final drives, so to use the 6-speed and it not be entirely useless you'd need the 3.266 final drive. The 5-speed you could swing either way on the final ratio. For what it's worth the Firebird with the same wheel diameter as the SC has a 3.42 final ratio with the following gear ratios:
1st: 2.660
2nd: 1.780
3rd: 1.300
4th: 1.000
5th: 0.740
6th: 0.500

First gear and second gear I can light the 275/40-17 Sport COMP-2 tires on 9.5" wide rims up on command, sure the LT1 is torquier than a 1UZ(or LS1 for that matter) but not so much so that I would ever see the Z33 6-speed being a good match for the 1UZ. Personally I'd go with the Z32 transmission and 3.266 final ratio, especially in a '98-00 SC400 which has more grunt than the earlier non-VVTi cars. A non-VVTi car I'd probably run the Z32 trans with the 3.769 final ratio. Of course this is just my observations and thoughts on the situation. I noticed the Z32 ratios are very similar to the W58 and R154 where the Z33 is very similar to the V160.

No problem. I understand though, the SC would be different and unique once done. To some extent I've come to feel the same about the Firebird, for the price difference compared to a Vette I could entirely revamp the brakes and suspension and have money leftover and probably have a better handling car on the track. I do have to say I really want a C5 in Navy Blue Metallic though:
