No, but they stick like GLUE when it's dry or damp, stick better than most when it's wet. It's just standing water that's an issue which is why I was already going slow, in addition to the fact that I couldn't see the damn lanes cause there were no reflectors and retro-reflective paint doesn't work underwater I guess.

All roads should have reflectors down the center and on the edges, or at least reflectors down the center and the reflective paint down the edges. I hate driving at night because of really bad astigmatism in both eyes, even with corrective lenses(couldn't see at all otherwise) I still get bade light glares. That and any time a car goes by unless it has sealed beams will blind me. Driving in rain at night is the worst since all the water reflects light very visibly.
I'm trying to decide if the NB1 headlights with a mini D2S 4.0 conversion and OSRAM or Philips bulbs or NB2 headlights with a 9012/9011 conversion on a 12 AWG relay harness would be better. Then that awkward moment where a NA8 with Cibie ECE H4 housings and 100/80W bulbs on a 12 AWG relay harness would probably still be better because DOT pattern sucks that much. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Tough choice, but I'd go with NB2 lights and gut the halogen projector. Someone can make a steel bracket that'll hold whatever HID projector can/will fit into the housing. Looks like a fairly standard 2.5 inch lens on there so there should be some options. I forget the guys name but he makes CNC stamped steel brackets for just that kind of situation, made some for a MR2 to install a bixenon projector, the OE projector is also the mounting bracket for the high beam bowl so his bracket holds the high beam bowl and has mounting ears for the bixenon unit.
https://www.miataturbo.net/general-miata-ch...adlights-92084/ Or gut the low beam shield and install the bixenon unit in place of the high beam, but that would be lots of work too. -------------------- |

I had thought about maybe doing HID projectors for the NB2 but figured it'd be a lot of work and having to cut and trim the housings etc... whereas it should be fairly straightforward to do the NB1 housings. I'll have to look around and see if anyone has bothered with putting in 9012/9011 bulbs into the NB2 since it'd be a fairly easy and inexpensive upgrade.

Of couser people have done that! And with heavier wiring it's quite bright. I think NB1 housings are too vertically constrained for fitting good projectors, at least they look that way. If you go Mini D2S 4.0 have someone mod them for smaller step and brighter hot spot.
Oh yea, anyone know if Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax strips or affects other waxes? I wiped the Celica down on some panels to refresh the water beading and didn't even think it might strip the Collinite! For what it's worth it stayed pretty clean on the long drive, just some light grime that wiped off with UWW+ -------------------- |

Yeah I did some looking before going to sleep and I saw where people mentioned doing it, but no one ever did like any before and after shots. Though if the NB2 with a 9012/9011 and 12 AWG relay harness is really good then that'd be the way to go from an ease and cost perspective. So then that'd have me leaning towards getting a '01-02 NB2 since the only reason to not get a NB2 was the VVT, but surely it can't be that bad as people make it out to be. If anything I'd think the VVT would make daily driving better, help reinforce the lower rpm's and such. The biggest complaints I keep finding is having to use premium instead of regular(oh noes an extra 40-50 cents a gallon) and the VVT doesn't play nice with boost. All in all though I think I'd prefer the NB2 since I want the NB2 seats and interior and I prefer the NB2 looks, etc... And if both would be about the same cost to buy it'd be kind of silly to get a NB1 and then go through the hassle of swapping in NB2 interior and retrofitting the headlights when that could be performance mods instead.
It's been so long since using their Quik Wax I'm not sure, use their Quik Detailer and water-less wash&wax all the time though. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

VVT can always be re-mapped. Better to have then to have not.

That's what I was figuring, surely by now someone has it all worked out. Which the NB2 has the best chassis and my biggest complaint with the NA6 was the chassis, so it'd only make sense to go with the NB2 then. Hopefully could find one in Midnight Blue Mica or Emerald Mica, those are really nice colours. I immediately rule out any in Classic Red or Crystal Blue Metallic.
So finally took pictures for my listing, now just to convince myself that selling it is a good idea. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

You change cars more often than you change underwear Turbo the Miata? You're not the first person to tell me that, and it's actually true because I've been going commando ever since getting the fibromyalgia. The bunching up of even boxers would cause discomfort, and any holdups in certain areas would cause pain. I've also stopped wearing pants too, which I didn't wear often before, but the pants legs rubbing against my hair and skin causes discomfort now. That or supercharge it, though I don't think anyone makes a supercharger kit for them anymore unless ProCharger could come up with something I guess. Which if I want to do forced induction, which ultimately I'd like to, then should really look more towards the NB1 again probably. Pretty much got the rust cleaned up off the rotors with driving.
Found the tip of a thorn in my wrist starting to make an abcess, worth it. The fresh wild red raspberries we picked while hiking were delicious. -------------------- |

There were blackberry and raspberry bushes on the the previous property, had any of us been thinking would've found some saplings to transplant. That and there were honeysuckles everywhere too.

So found where there are turbo kits and supercharger kits that take the model year into consideration rather it has VVT or not, so that's good. Of course the downside is the kits will cost about as much as the car will.
https://www.flyinmiata.com/voodoo-ii-turbo-...nb-chassis.html https://www.flyinmiata.com/fm-ii-turbo-syst...nb-chassis.html http://www.fastforwardsuperchargers.com/mi...w-cost-kit.html http://www.fastforwardsuperchargers.com/mi...harger-kit.html Which I was leaning towards supercharging, but once I look into them all some more I may say the Voodoo II might be the way to go. Since the Voodoo makes as much power as the standard supercharger for much less money, and 200 or so whp should be more than enough for me in a Miata. Plus you get chu sounds with a turbo, and everyone likes chu sounds. This post has been edited by Box: Jul 3, 2017 - 7:01 PM -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Which forced induction will be the last thing to do unless I find a nice car that's already been done up, it's just nice to know what's out there since I know ones like Jackson Racing have been discontinued.
Also happy 4th of July to everyone in the States, may your day be full of grilled foods and dazzling fireworks from China. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Most pro shows roll their own or buy from a handful of domestic producers, though I'm not 100% where they get their powders from. Some grind some of their own for their specialty shells but general powders may be from foreign producers.

Probably because you can get a Crucial 275GB SDD for $100 USD most anywhere and a Samsung 250GB SDD is like $105, though assuming you're selling at $100 AUD it'd be cheaper to get yours.
