Har har. I just don't like how ugly and bulbous the current wheel is, even the Grand Am/Sunfire would be an improvement and at least it's a direct swap with no work needed to do it. I found one on eBay but it's the wrong shade of grey, way too light.

I got a new paint product on a whim, called Rejex. Supposed to be pretty good stuff but has some stringent application and curing needs. I'm waiting for some 476S to haze up to wipe off and compare side to side. I have a feeling it won't be a huge difference side by side with fresh 476S vs fresh Rejex, the real test will be in a few weeks or a months how well each side is beading water and wiping off dirt. I need to do the same to the hood and bumper on each side to compare bug removal, 476S does ok for keeping bugs from sticking but it's nothing amazing, I'm hoping Rejex is amazing at that. Supposedly you can use it on glass like Rainx but longer lasting.

I remember you mentioned it awhile back and were thinking about trying it. I would like something for the glass to help with water sheeting, supposedly a lot of miracle products out there these days but not sure if it'd be worth trying. The biggest issue I have with the Firebird is that it doesn't have a wiper for the rear window for whatever reason, that was such a nice thing to have on the Celica.

Oh that is super weird feeling, I can feel a difference in drag on a microfiber cloth between the two sides. The fresh 476S is beading water like off a ducks back with big fat drops left on the surface that slowly run off, as per usual. The Rejex isn't beading water as hard, it's more like a sheeting action with smaller drops left behind so it's hard to tell which side has less water on it. I'm going to do something naughty and leave my hard water on the trunk over night and see if any hard water minerals get left behind and which side wipes off more easily in the morning or which side is even dry in the morning. It's kind of a different experience from waxes that I'm used to, I'll do a half and half on the front of the car tomorrow after I get around to putting the new radio in and fiddlin with it.

Hmmm, I get the feeling there might be some innuendos in that last comment.
So the hard part of changing shocks on the Firebird is over, it's up on stands now. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Nuts holding the shocks to the axle are stuck, always something. Wish I had an impact with me.

Hot nuts come easier, get the torch out, they'll come free once they're hot even with hand tools.

Yeah that's what I did after letting them sit overnight with Deep Creep. Well, there's the problem:
Guess I'll be looking into replacing the front ones sooner than later than I thought since I'm oh so sure it was a matching set, though I wanted to wait until I did springs since on the front the springs sit on the shock perch. Just now got it back on the ground and back together but just trying to bounce the car by hand it's a million times better, so once I'm feeling up to it will go for a test drive to see how they do. Well it won't be any worse, that's for sure! Maybe this will help with the butt of your car twerking so much.

Indeed, that's the hope. Well I never got to feeling better, plus there were cars in my way so maybe tomorrow. At least going off bouncing by hand the damping control is so much better it's not even funny(I wish I had filmed before and after now that I think about it), so I think that'll translate to real world results. It's also why I went with mono-tubes for the rear since I figured being a solid axle the more damping control and the stiffer the better, plus no possibilities of shock fade. I think when I do the front I'll do the KONI STR.T twin-tubes since that's the shock that everyone says is best for the car outside of the stupid expensive KONI single adjustable, and then depending on how the KONI and KYB pair together either keep it as is or go to KONI in the rear as well.

I'm dorking around with a carb for a 30 yr old Snapper push mower, needs a needle seat I think. Also started wiring the radio in the Mazda earlier but I don't have the male spade I need and by the time I finished looking the local autoparts store was closed and I don't feel like driving up to Walmart tonight to get some. And I think I just realized the new head unit doesn't have a dimmer wire and has to be manually dimmed via a button push or on a scheduled timer, ugh, I don't like that BUT I think I will like it actually since in the Mazda I always drive with the marker lights on so the radio was always dimmed in the day time. I guess it's a blessing in disguise since I can control it. Ok, I'm not upset anymore. One less wire to connect! Now to find a male spade terminal somewhere.

Well that's weird, would think they'd all have dimmer wiring these days. I like how I have the dimmer set on mine, bright purple with the lights off then goes to an amber to match the gauges etc... with the lights on.

Yea it's weird but whatever, jammed the ground wire into the terminal with no spade just to play with the radio some. I got some observations. HD Radio really does sound that good. Digital time alignment is cool.

Indeed, digital radio sounds a lot better and comes in stronger. That and having the artist and song information is really cool.
