If those tiny sports cars came in hard top and were sold here cheaply I'd seriously love to own one. Our 'Murican small cars suck. Give us tiny sports cars too!

Well currently there's the Honda S660 in Japan, and it's been said if there was a strong enough desire from the U.S. they'd bring it over. Though that was about two years ago and no sight of them, clearly someone didn't get a petition rolling.

Would be a lot cooler than a Smart Car or any of the other micro cars that are available here.

Why they all gotta be convertibles? I need a damn roof. Don't even want the sunroof I have on the Celica.

Seems to be a cloth top targa:

Yeah I don't care for removable tops either, having hair and what not. Moonroofs I'm ok with if it's a good design that doesn't leak, I liked tilting open the one in my Celica to help with getting heat out of the car. That and sliding back the panel at night.

If there were a hard panel option it may be OK enough...with an extra aftermarket roll bar.

Given the fact it's new as well as so small and light I doubt it'd need a roll bar, a hard targa panel would be nice though. That's ok first they'd even have to make it over here. Maybe we should start a petition. laugh.gif

Well this afternoon had some ups and downs. Meant to go out to the fossil hunting grounds but didn't get out early enough and didn't have enough sleep to want to drive an hour each way. Went to a nearer state park and hiked a cross country ski trail which I got lost on cause it loops around a bunch and the turns are weird angles and I lost track, way underestimated the mosquitos, got my ass chewed off by them, finally made it back to the car and grabbed my skate board and kicked a nice 4 1/2 mile round trip down a nice paved path that actually runs like 10 miles, only went about 2 1/4 and back to the car. Went to Wendys for dinner and they gave me a large chili instead of a small but a regular jr cheese burger instead of a bacon jr. You win some and you lose some I guess. Now I need to stay awake enough to go out later to try to catch some of the Perseid shower that's peaking tonight. There should be some OK sky near me, I think I know a place that's not technically private property, just an abandoned residential street in a failed subdivision that should be dark and is within about 10 minutes drive. If not there then I'll find somewhere that hopefully I won't attract the cops.

I think you officially did more today than I do in a month, which I was never the active outdoors type but I used to do a lot more than I do now. Also thanks for reminding me, hopefully can see some of the meteor shower from where I am.

If I do nothing I feel terrible. I need more exercise, just being thin doesn't mean I'm healthy.

If I do nothing I feel terrible, if I do anything I pay for it and feel worse. I actually got a recumbent bike out of storage now that there's some room for it, need to get it cleaned up and functioning again so I can try to start doing it at least every other day or so.

I can't help but find this post I came across as somewhat ironic, the guy got rid of his Celica GT-S for a Mustang GT. Kind of the exact opposite of what I'm wanting to do, but the Firebird is better than the Mustang so I can't help but wonder what he was thinking. Which thinking about it had I gotten a Celica or another Miata instead I'd probably be thinking about selling them to try a 4th gen to see what they were about, so things happen for a reason I suppose. It's just aggravating though, I like the Firebird but it's just not ever going to do what I want in terms of handling even though it's good for what it is. If I could I'd just keep it and get a Celica or Miata etc... to go along with it, but it's either or. I don't use the power of the Firebird and the Celica GT-S will be plenty quick, and I'll get more of what I do want out of a car which is handling. Meh, guess I'll relist the Firebird...

I've heard it's not that good on multiple occasions, a lot of compromises were made to get an IRS into a car not designed for it. Though there're supposed be aftermarket kits out there to make it a lot better, but they're costly. Then I'd have to do a hydraulic clutch conversion as there's no way I can use the clutch as it is stock. Would just be much better off with a Corvette at that rate.

I saw one good meteor and maybe some others but could have just been my eyes playing tricks on me. The moon was very bright and washed out the sky in addition to the high veil of clouds.

I ended up forgetting because looking up car crap has consumed me, well that and making something for dinner since I had forgotten to eat up until that point. That's ok I'm sure there are videos and pictures already out there a lot better than what I could've seen anyway.

After thinking about it extensively the Celica GT-S would be the most sensible car out there; it's reliable, fuel efficient, quick, good handling, practical, comfortable, and has fairly good aftermarket support. So at the moment it's really down to it, that or if practicality be damned perhaps a Miata or MR2.

I think a 2ZZ/C60 LSD swapped 3rd gen MR2 with a hard top would be your perfect car. Small, light, fast, reliable, economical, easy to drive, and you'll pull in tons of dick driving a MK3 MR2. I mean pussy, you'll be drowning in semen. Wait got it wrong again, you'll be reeling in tons of tail.

They don't look soo bad with the facelift lights of the later models, the early models looked...not my fave.

Yeah a 2ZZ MR-S with LSD would be a lot of fun, just a matter of making it be. At least with the Celica changing out the transmission or cracking open what's there to put in a LSD wouldn't be so bad, everything has to be done to change the clutch anyhow. Hmm I get enough guys propositioning me as it is, I don't need to give them any more reasons by owning a small cute convertible. Then again it was brought to my attention by my brother the 7th gen Celica is a girl's car too, at which point I was like "Not if it's a 6-speed GT-S, besides I owned a NA Miata do you think I really care?" laugh.gif

Mom's fiance bought a new to him car, an '05 Altima. So after changing the oil and spark plugs went over it and took it for a small drive and really just needs front brakes, tires, and an alignment. The tires still have some tread, but they're cheap crap from Wal-Mart. All in all a good car for the money in decent shape. A joy to drive it is not though.
