I work for a commercial roofing company and we have a branch in Houston. Our GM is surrounded, no way in or out of where he lives. Crazy...

moar rain today. Oddly enough, the water level in the retention pond at my apartments actually dropped even with the rain. lol Still a lot of flooding though.

HEB (a major Texas grocery store) has a relief and rescue convoy on stand-by. New York is sending some 120 service men to San Antonio to provide medical aid to civilians and rescue workers. No word from Red Cross or FEMA yet.

The BRZ is like the Miata coupe you've always wanted, but it's made by Subaru.

Going to have my brother drive the Firebird to see what he thinks, probably will be this weekend. Helps to get a second viewpoint on things. Though like was telling him the only cars out there really would be a NB2 Miata or 7th gen Celica GT-S.

I'd send the video into the school along with a formal complaint against the driver. "Is this who you trust with the lives of our children?"

Then if you want to be an ass threaten you want action taken against the driver or you'll send the video in to every local news outlet. laugh.gif

I already contacted the local PD, WGN news, and the bus company and it's parent company. WGN and PD already responded. I did a sneaky and emailed the Chief directly by guessing the email as it's not listed, first name letter and last name at the village, they use the same scheme for everyone there.

I mean clearly they weren't even paying attention to what was going on otherwise they'd have never started pulling out. A late 90's Mazda 626 isn't the biggest thing out there but it's not exactly tiny either, so no excuse for not seeing you if they bothered looking.

As far as two door performance cars go just about, the only saving grace is it weighs under 3,400 pounds.

So I found a short term solution to my problem, just drive with the lights on all the time:

You laugh but it helps.

Last night I swapped the emitter and sink pad from a broken flashlight to a cheap flashlight, dumped the cheap crap low binned XM-L for a higher binned copper padded XM-L2. I somehow soldered it backward, realized it tonight, fixed it, and dang it's bright. Optics still suck but it's a solid cheap spare flash light for a friend or just to keep around the house. It's plenty to light up a room when the power is out or shine down the street.

Speaking of power outages, I need to find where the hell my hurricane lantern went to. I miss that thing!

It’s been a couple of days already but we got our house so the cars are finally back in a garage.

Found some schematics and seems the headlamp doors are controlled explicitly from the headlight control module, so trying some kind of separate switch like the Miatas have isn't possible. Oh well.

After looking at the schematics I should be able to take a constant power source and on/off switch and tap into the "headlamps on input" as an override, then I could send the power on signal while still bypassing turning on the lights etc... Well, provided it's a 12V system still anyway.
