It’s been a couple of days already but we got our house so the cars are finally back in a garage. Jealous of the concrete driveway... Asphalt is "meh" compared to maintenance free concrete. -------------------- 2000 GT-S 6 SPD... SOLD! |

The garage is a lot smaller than my old garage but it'll do. Getting into the driveway isn't low car friendly but that can be fixed. I definitely don't mind the concrete over asphalt. Left my last workbench in my old garage so I'll have to build another one.

I wouldn't **** with it, that's probably a discontinued module. Probably, but I don't see why the module would care if it's getting 12V from the light switch or from a separate switch. That or just drive with the lights on all the time burning out bulbs. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

So went out for a drive earlier and out for dinner since I figured everyone would be at home watching football, and I was right since I was practically all alone. Just how I like it. Anyway, I hate the solid axle. HATE. Trying to have fun on a back road, but of course it's probably just barely nicer than the surface of the moon like most roads around here, and the entire time I get nothing but wheel hop when trying to accelerate. Not even trying to accelerate all that hard, half throttle if that, doesn't matter just rarawwrar rarwarwrrrrrr raawwwrrrrr as it's trying to get traction but it can't because the back of the car can't conform to the road long enough. Never mind the dangers of wheel hop, but it's incredibly annoying. Like what's the point of power if it can't be used, and handling is meh so it's just crap. Utter crap just like the roads around here. Ughhh, how do people like solid axles... I honestly rather have half the power in order to get IRS, I'm done. Never had this bull**** happen in any car prior, but that's right they didn't have the rear suspension from a ****ing truck.

I think Box needs a hug. Does this one count? It's a box of Huggies and those are the same words so I think it counts. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. Just upgrade it man..... coils, poly bushing, maybe upgraded control arms sway bars then it should handle pretty well.

Until the road is crap and the truck suspension is useless. Went down the same roads as last night in the Audi on the way to the store and back today, absolutely no problems whatsoever. I just need to subject myself to the Hell that is selling a car and then buying another.

Box face it no care you get is going to meet these unreachable standards you have. At this point I don't think even a 458 Italia would..... you had a Celi you hated the fwd and wanted rwd so you got a Miata. You had that didn't like that because of no power and wanted a V8. Then that got you where you are now. No car you get is going to be what you want you're going to have to build it as it looks to me. The f body is a nice platform to do so and I honestly think if you give it a chance you'll surprise yourself or don't. Sell it and keep repeating the cycle you're doing now.

Actually I didn't like the Miata because it was a creaky noodle, hence a NB2 with half the mileage on it. I can't stand the solid axle though as it'll never do what I want, so it has to go. It's to the point where I hate the car for it. A ****ing sedan drives better than it.

If you say so. I'm willing to take a punt that whatever care you get next will have a fatal flaw that'll put make you sell it. Seriously you can build your f body into the car you want it. My brothers a body has a solid axle and upgraded suspension and handles great. It's on everything I described above.

No really, I was content with the power of the Miata. It felt quicker than what it was. The only way the Firebird has a snowball's chance in Hell would be an IRS conversion, it can have all the suspension add-ons out there but the solid axle will always give me the problems it's giving me now. I hardly use the Firebird's power and when I do I end up inadvertently breaking the law, so I rather have something smaller and lighter with great handling and adequate power.

The wheels in the bus go around and round, round and row, round and round.
Face it. Nothing appeals to you. Its not the car the problem. Its your high expectations. Cannot expect an old vehicle to handle like a McLaren. Fast, nimble, responsive, and swift. Unless you bring your expectations down, NO USED car will make you happy. You always have to throw hundreds of dollars to try to make it better, only to realize its not.. in all seriousness, you need to consider public transportation... -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... Yarly. I will be the last to not recommend a Miata to anyone, but if you don't like revving that motor out it won't do much for you. The NB is more comfortable and roomy but I think you actually want an NC. Although uninspiring, that motor at least has the torque to move the car at the pace of traffic while shifting conservatively.
