So I keep hearing something creak and squeak under the dash while depressing the clutch pedal, and when it doesn't make noise it seems the pedal isn't as hard to press. I'm thinking it's perhaps the return spring binding, going to try and take a look later up underneath the dash. Found some good pictures showing it: its a mouse -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I hardly log in anymore, last login Today Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOL

I'm pretty sure I'd have noticed a mouse or penis underneath the dashboard, I'm happy to say there were neither.

Well, I've officially pulled at least a mile of extra useless wire from my newest addition. Crappy installed audio and replaced properly now. All the fast and furious lights have been Uninstalled, Umm found out there was aftermarket heated seat pads installed, had to take out and reinstall properly. My next project is it rewire my gauge cluster, issue it having is, when pressing on the gas it lights up, when off the gas it dims and goes out

That's weird... Unless a wire to the cluster dropped down and when you're on the accelerator the pedal arm completes the circuit and when off it breaks the circuit.

Brother is bringing the Miata for me to check out before he buys it. So that should be fun.

Or ****ty LED conversion and low alternator output? Or some kind of bad voltage drop on the circuit.

Aside from where someone backed into the driver rear quarter with a truck or SUV and some idiot not knowing how to detail paint it's in really nice shape. Rides and drives a lot better than the NA6 I had, more compliant on bumps and has less body roll and chassis flex. Contrary to interior specs online I have more shoulder room in it than I did in the NA6, my shoulder is right on the door panel and not buried into it. Plenty of leg room and head room of course. He's able to get it for what the dealer gave on it for trade-in, told him he'd be stupid to pass it up if he even remotely wants a Miata. Of course he complained about the lack of power, it's brisk enough but it does feel considerably slower than the Genesis and Firebird.

The lust is real, pure unadulterated lust. I keep looking at it under the moon light, and I can't sleep(nothing new there really). I imagine this how most men feel towards a woman they find attractive.

I'm testing circuits tonight, it does have aftermarket gauges installed, and ****ty blue lights, I do have another cluster to test out, if it works, I'll rebuild it with the correct bulbs.

Was able to drive the Firebird to the fuel station and back, it's better but still not as light as I'd like.

It is funny how much nicer the NB2 is than the NA6 though, the NB2 actually feels like a car from its time whereas the NA6 not so much. The 1.8 sounds better too, and the seats are way better. Still had to rev it out to get the most of it and couldn't get the tires to spin with the BFGoodrich Sport COMP-2 on it, but it did seem the low and mid range was a good bit better. Which I didn't dump the clutch or anything, but even getting on it all the way turning onto the highway it didn't want to spin. Felt strong, just doesn't have the ass to burn off the COMP-2 like the Firebird does. They're both fun in their own way though. He had to take it back to the dealership, but plans to buy it Friday. Hmm, maybe he'll let me borrow it and I can let him borrow the Firebird. It'll be like spouse swapping, but not morally or ethically wrong.

I've driven every gen of MX-5 Box and so far my I like the NA the best and ND. All were brilliant in their own way though, NC club is great too.

I like how the NA looks, but after seeing and driving both I like the NB2 a lot more. It's everything I wanted fixed in the NA6 already done from the factory. Plus the NB2 looks somewhat aggressive, especially with the optional body kit. At this rate it'd have to be a NB2, maybe a NA8 if it were a '94-96 M-Edition.
Maybe after he buys it I can drive it and the Firebird back to back extensively on the same roads and see which I like more. Though I was reminded how much I like a small and light car, felt immediately more comfortable driving it than I ever have in the Firebird. Being able to see the fender flares and hood bulge and just knowing how small the car is goes a long way in that regard. That and nothing I do in the Miata will get me killed, the Firebird can be a cruel mistress and won't hesitate to kill you if you mistreat her. Like earlier just driving back and forth to the fuel station and it was a sunny and pretty warm day, just getting on it enough to get up to speed it stepped out three or four times. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

It's been up on a lift and inspected and everything was checked again when it was up on jack stands to change the shocks, everything was in good shape. Tire traction is definitely part of it, on the 16x8 and all seasons it wanted to kill you all the time whereas with the 17x9.5 and COMP-2 it just reminds you it can kill you. I think it's mostly having a friction clutch LSD that's more than eager enough to lock up, that and it has the torque to lock it up at any given moment.

Well that and being a solid axle it can't put the power down evenly unless the surface is even, it does it most often on inclined or declined turns. On perfectly flat road in a straight line it won't do it unless you floor it and then it kicks out to the right from the engine torque. At any rate you have to be mindful of throttle input, whereas in the Miata you can just floor it all the time if you want and it just goes without drama.
That's ok, apparently the bank is reneging on giving my brother the loan for the Miata... So now he's having to see if another bank will do it. Meh, if only I had sold the Firebird and then it wouldn't matter as then I could just buy it. Then again how was I to know someone would trade in a Shinsen where he works and that it could be gotten for trade-in value, or that I'd really like the NB2... -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Hmmm, that's like a bigger, heavier, and faster Miata. I'd like to drive one, see how it compares to the Miata outside of the fact I know it'd be faster.
In happier news brother found a bank that'd do the loan for the Miata, so all is is right with the world now. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed
