Well, last night, I wired up my speakers and amp in the Supra only to find out that my amp isn't powering on and neither is my JVC external bluetooth module..... -___- Finished it up by around 10PM, so I didn't bother to do any checks. :\

Doesn't exist. Good luck with the valet gig, remember to open the lady's door first.

The custom build page shows it available in Agate Grey Metallic, for an extra $700. (although the one I saw was a slightly darker shade than that, maybe it's a couple years old) Our tickets that we use to identify cars don't have all the different colors listed so I've begun calling everything from gun-metal to silver, "grey".
I'm just worried that once school starts back up these guys are going to try and keep scheduling me 40 hours a week.

If that's what you gotta worry about, time for another gig. Focus on what you gotta do for yourself. wink.gif

Ferdi was saying that the 911 and Cayman are different cars, not that the gray isn't available. The 911 has like 27,036 different sub-models, but the Cayman is a different chassis. I personally like the Cayman better than the 911 but I'm sure I'm alone in preferring an "inferior" car to their flagship. I strongly considered a Cayman to replace my old 350Z.

The Cayman is more or less a Boxster coupe.

smile.gif Oh I thought the way they have them listed on their site is as if they are all different versions of the 911. I see now the Boxter and Cayman aren't the 911. but the tail is quite similar for them all with or without the spoiler.
I spent quite a few hours perusing it the other day and yet I still wonder about it being a 918, I don't distinctly remember it having doors like that or the headrest like extensions on the rear deck. I just remember it was white and looked like Jesus. Maybe it was a Carrera with the louvers. The other one down in the garage was a Cayman.

I do have one other thing to worry about though...
but that can go in the Celica thread.

It could have been a Carrera GT instead of a 918. Pretty similar styling.

So it's time to buy a new car, paying for 6-12 mpg on premium gets old pretty quick even with fuel as cheap as it is. I can buy something like another Miata or Celica to offset it, or just sell it and buy a 4th gen as originally intended. If anything this just proves I'll never be happy with a car no matter what it is.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about the CR-X. It's the only Honda I've ever wanted, S2000 and NSX aside. The HF and DX models are also cheap if they're still original. The DX gets a little over 40 if I recall correctly, and it's not a complete slug. I want to say it's about as quick as the ST Celica. The HF with it's super economy engine and gearing would be a little too slow to live with I think, that and good luck finding a model with A/C... I was getting right around 30 mpg with the Miata and that was pretty good, a little over 36 with the Celica. All of my driving is either highway or doddling around town, so city mileage isn't really much of a factor. Which I thought about buying a V6 5-speed 4th gen as they actually get into the 30's, but then I'd probably end up removing the transmission, brakes, rims, and suspension to use on the Firebird...oops... Really as long as it gets around 30 mpg on the highway and is sporty it'd work. Thought about a 280ZX or 240SX as they'd get close to 30 and still be RWD, I wasn't crazy about the Miata being a convertible so I don't think I'd get another.

I only deal in cash, and unless you can get an Exige for under $10,000 now I'll have to pass. I don't know, I just caught myself earlier today and everything I want to do with the Firebird is stock on a 4th gen. Sure I like the second gen more from an aesthetics point, but is it really worth reinventing the wheel? Either I should more or less keep it as it is and buy something that gets at least 30 mpg, or sell it and get a 4th gen. I might be able to get 16 mpg out of it by redoing the exhaust and intake and downsizing to 600 CFM, but even then I wouldn't expect any more than 14 or so... Needless to say I really didn't think this one through, of course all I've ever heard from the older generation was "They're not so bad if you keep your foot out of it, you should get into the low 20's..." Using 1/8 of the throttle is about as little as I can use unless I'm just going to idle around, which is what I have to do in parking lots... Get into the back barrels any and watching the fuel gauge becomes an actual activity. It's just I don't see the point in spending more on a car than what it's worth, even on one I like. I have to be the most ass backwards car guy I know...

Aww thanks Scoot <3

Square you need to actually drive these cars before you buy them. Reading the interwebz is nice to get numbers, but it is nothing compared to actually driving and feeling the car. The Miata is a perfect example of this.

We don't have public transportation where I live, unless you want to count the school bus.

I drive each car before I buy it, but it's only a test drive and I'm focusing more on the mechanics of the car. The biggest issue with the Miata was that it was a convertible(Yeah, I know), I never dropped the top so I got all of the negatives with none of the positives.

My problem is that I want a car that does it all, and sadly all of those are expensive.

This is where genetic engineering and Chocobos come in as a plan B.
