Bumped a brake drum off with the new air hammer. Half trigger was like hitting it with a 24oz ball peen at 1000 hits a minute, fantastic.

Suspended coverage on the Firebird, tag expires this month and needed to get a new tag since moving counties anyway. So meh, it'll just sit and collect dust as it has been but I won't be paying for it to collect dust now.

Waiting on tools to come in, the last bit I had ordered for the rivet gun air hammer came in today, a really inexpensive but very very beautifully made flush rivet set. This isn't the part, but I wanted to show something really wonderful about it. The face is so finely polished it's like a mirror with softly rounded edges, it's kind of pretty to look at since the rest is super hard tool steel (M2 I think) and then there's this mirror polish soft gentle end on it.

You know, I just so happen to know of a guy selling one in that exact color....

Probably isn't a 6-speed though is it? If so I'll be a sad panda.

It is a 6-speed actually. smile.gif

Not sure if sarcasm or serious. laugh.gif

Anyway, rivet guns are rated by 16ths of an inch for what size rivet they can do. A 1x gun can do a 1/16th rivet and a 9x gun (biggest cold rivet gun) can do a 9/16th rivet. For car stuff a 2x or 3x gun would probably be plenty, but get a 4x gun and you'll have enough power for bigger stuff if you need to and you can also use it as an air hammer. 4x is typically the biggest gun that'll run .401 shank tools which are the most common and cheapest to buy. Bigger guns, 5x and above will use .498 shank tools which are more expensive and have a poorer selection.

You also need a bucking bar which acts like an anvil behind the rivet being driven. The part in the gun is called a rivet set, though it's only one part, typically you'd use a cupped set.

Atlas Copco makes some of the best rivet guns and they have recoil-less models which are a godsend if you're using it often, they can be picked up in 3x and 4x size used on eBay for under $150 readily, sometimes under $100.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ATLAS-COPCO-RRH-06...er/192410960158

I know more about the gun end of things than the riveting end of things, I use my 6x as an air hammer and it kicks ass. Knocks off rusted rotors and drums in a jiffy and with a pickle fork separates ball joints in about 1/2 a jiffy. A 4x recoilless gun would also serve double use for you, air hammers are great tools for saving labor at the expense of making a god awful racket. You don't want to use an air hammer as a rivet gun, the triggers don't let you ease into hammering and they're harder to control since the small air hammers hit really fast with so little trigger input. A good air rivet gun will let you tease the trigger in slowly and gradually to start the rivet without bouncing off and denting your work.

This video ought to fill you in on the part about fastening stuff with stuff.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTmuFxEN1Mk
You need to also drill a **** ton of holes, they actually do make special bits and counter sinks for some kinds of rivets, if you're going to rely on them structurally be sure you fully understand how to use them correctly.

And here's a very old technical video about flat face riveting which is something you'd see on an aircraft or if you needed to lay filler and paint over a panel that's been patched in. With todays panel adhesives there's little need to rivet patch panels, 3M Panel Bonding adhesive is stronger than weld or rivets.

My mom went to a new grocery store and ended up talking to one of the girls that works there, and apparently she has a thing for boys with long hair. I know where to go shopping next. laugh.gif

Those are likely some big steel rivets which will need a big rivet gun, you'll have to find out the rivet diameter and get a gun that's the right size for the job. It's even possible those are hot rivets which is not an at home kind of thing without a good gas fire forge to get the rivets to the right temp, though as much metal working as you seem to do a small gas forge may be a thing you need. I sure do miss the old coke fired one next to my dads house sometimes.

It's a kilt! It's a little long on me since I'm short, but still around the knees so it's not that long. Hmm... I was going to wear shorts for the initial meeting, though past experiences and knowledge would lead me to believe she'd like or at least be ok with the kilt. When your girl says you can get into her panties whenever you want, but she doesn't mean what you initially think... Actually had one like that once, at first I thought she was being lewd but no she seriously wanted me in her underwear... At times I think I should've went a long, would've been worth it after she had me out of them. laugh.gif I think she was proof to my brother's theory that all women are actually bisexual or lesbian.

The best woman is one who's not afraid to ask for what she wants.

I'm watching this anime called Kobosuba, it's so stupid but fun and amusing.

I'm going to paint my air hammer red white and blue and call it the freedom gun cause it gets stuff free.

Haha I suppose, but... that's a little much even for me. Then again, if a girl asks you to do it and they're her's that makes it ok right? laugh.gif Actually back a few months ago when I shaved for the first time in forever and had people mistake me for a girl and question my gender for a week was because of a girl that loved my hair but hated the facial hair(MY INDICATOR), but it was worth it. That and I did end up going from the full beard I've had since I've been able to grow one down to a French beard, and really kinda like it more myself and people seem more positive towards the long hair with French beard than they did the long hair with full beard. I guess because now I'm not some kind of Jesus lookalike. laugh.gif

YESSS, then whenever you use it you have to be like "AMERICAAAAA FUCCKKKK YEAAAAHHHH!!!" *hammer hammer hammer*

Oh I will certainly do just that, not that anyone will be able to hear over the god awful racket it makes. The sounds of freedom ring in your ears for a long time my friend. (I use hearing protection, don't worry)
