Man haven't posted in a while. Update. Picked up a 90 Accord 4 Dr, 5 speed, manual. Every service record since new!! Beautiful porno red interior 🤣. Great on gas. Needed a nice little beater while all the cars are getting worked on. The SC has new coilovers to be installed and drivers Harness that needs relocated. HighO silver getting its southbend clutch and CV axle, my vert getting new brakes, and the 47 just had a tune up but not ideal for a legit daily driver even tho it made a 3 hour one way trip the other weekend

Pulled the freedom gun apart on lunch, the inside is spotless clean and it's in such good shape the brand logo and part number is still on the hammer inside that flies back and forth in the bore, which still has the fine spiral machining marks from production which act like a little cross hatch to help hold lube. Used it to knock a steel hub bearing out of an aluminum steering knuckle in about 90 seconds today with very little effort. Pretty awesome, pretty fun. It spun the bearing in the knuckle around with such ease like I've never seen before.


Also in taking it apart I see how well built this thing is, it'll last the rest of my life and probably the lifetime of the next guy too and maybe the next one. It doesn't hit real fast but that's nice, makes it easier to control.

when I feel like tearing it down again and prepping it correctly and painting it nicely in parts and oven baking the finish.

The SC did, but I took them off redoing the whole front suspension, I finished that up so next is coil install once again

Weather is decent and roads salt free, got some gas in the Celica, drove most of the rust off the brakes, burned my hand a little on the backing plate when I went to push it back cause it was rubbing some. I need to take the brakes apart and clean them all up and re-lube everything. Disappointing note, I had oil on the garage floor. It looks like it's on the passenger rear of the engine, I've had some oil weepage there before but nothing on the floor. Before it looked like the timing cover weeping where it meets the cylinder head. I may clean it up real good and smear some silicone on the outside to see if that'll slow or stop it, if not then I need to get off my ass and order a timing chain, guides, cams, valves, springs, etc and get the head in my basement built and installed.

It was on the floor which means it ran off of the under-panel so it's not so minor anymore, but still pretty minor. If it was leaking while sitting though I sort of doubt it's the chain cover since there shouldn't be oil up there when it's off. It could be the lower oil pan which is much much easier. If that's the case then it'll be an easy fix, I'll clean it up when I'm on the rack to do the brake clean up.

Yeah probably oil pan if it leaked while sitting not being run, which is the last thing you'd want on a longitudinally mounted engine but it's not so bad on a transverse one.

check the timing chain tensioner. those tend to cause the leak on the passenger side. my matrix is leaking a bit there but nothing on the ground. I'm gonna change it out next time I do an oil change.

Sigh... So apparently my leg being numb is just going to be par for the course from now on, been about half a year now with no signs of improvement and if anything it's just gotten worse. Even tried new medication for nerve pain... I can't decide on what to replace the Firebird with since anything else I'd know I'd prefer over it is too expensive, and everything else runs into the problem of needing swapped or some form of forced induction just to make the meager amount of power it'd take to satiate me or the clutch is just as stiff if not worse. I have half a mind of just giving up on cars entirely since I can't have what I want because my body limits me or I'm too poor, would save a lot of money and headache. Which is basically what I've done anyway by suspending coverage and letting registration expire and refusing to sell the Firebird. I should just get something purple regardless of what it is, seems like as good a plan as any.

I replaced that when I did the lift bolts, it's been dry since but I'll double check it when it's at the shop in a couple months.

I think it's time for another MKIII Supra, if I could find a '90-92 Turbo that'd work out. That or a MR2 Turbo or Celica All-Trac would also work. Problem is finding any of them running and decent shape for $6,000. Since they're the only cars in my price range that'd make the power I want stock while being RWD or AWD, having a manual with a light enough clutch, and aren't German. This doesn't help with selling a car I don't want to sell in the first place. Meh...
