Well he finally bought 2K clear coat and plastic repair, no filler though. Guess if it's warm enough this weekend he might do the headlight door to see how well the paint matches, though if it doesn't then I don't know what to do. I doubt the SEM or other off the shelf mixes will do any better. Bleh...

Some recent projects...

Using the snowblower for the first time this year. I got some suitcase weights for free, so I just needed to make a bracket for the rear. Two 1/2" bolts go through the frame and it won't swing down because the top of the mount on each side is against part of the frame.

I'm practicing more with sweating copper. I plumbed in a line and pot filler on the side of our cabinet so that we can easily fill our gravity fed (Berkey) water filter system. Had to replace one of the crappy gate valves too (to shut it off). The main reason for this was to bypass the water softener, as the carbon based filters don't get along with all of the salt in the water.

It's a bad photo, but I installed some new rubber and wheels on the ES330. General Altimax RT43 tires and I got some replica (JWL certified) Avalon wheels. The tires were $344 shipped through Discount Tire and the wheels I got on wheelership.com for $377 shipped (for all four!).

I quite like the filtered water and ice cubes via the Samsung refrigerator, though the refrigerator is brushed stainless and not shiny so there's that. Also wooo new wheels.

I just saw the new Harry Potter movie thing with Erin. Meh, she gave it a thumbs down. My take away was...

There's a character who's very short, has 3 fingers, later said to be a 'half elf' which I assume means half house elf half human with 'very weak magic'. So WHO ****ED A HOUSE ELF?!?! What muggle was drunk enough to look at a house elf and say 'yea I'll break me off a slice of that'. WHO THE **** ****ED THE HOUSE ELF!?

Hmmm... Let's give benefit of the doubt since they just say elf and not an exact race that the elf looked like Arwen from the LOTR trilogy:


Or if it were male elf and human female that the elf looked like Link from Breath of the Wild when infiltrating the Gerudo town:

I know right, I want to know why in J.K. Rowling's mind that elves should be ugly. I suppose to be different since usually elves are depicted as attractive, regardless of their height. That and I guess them being hideous falls in line better with them being more or less slaves.

I tried to find info on whether or not more than house elves exist within the realm of Harry Potter, but really nothing else is ever mentioned. Which brings up the question, why not just call them elves then and why the distinction? Hmm... Oh well. That's ok a lot of the creatures in the Harry Potter universe stray away from mainstream notions, so why not.
