In fairness all of the videos could've been cat deleted too(since people like to do that for whatever reason), which doesn't do the majority of engines any favours. Since the NB2 with the muffler dropped didn't sound that horrendously raspy, so I don't know how a cat-back with a straight through could sound worse than no muffler at all but in those videos it did. I looked at the Racing Beat, Flyin' Miata, Cobalt, and Roadster Sport? cat-backs and they were all bleh. Did find one of a Fujitsubo later that sounded fairly nice, but of course it would since it's like twice as much as the others. That and I think they were in the UK since they were RHD and spoke English, so they wouldn't have been able to remove the cat due to MOT inspections. Probably will just figure out a way of just replacing the muffler and go from there, as that'd be the cheapest option and since the fabricator my brother found does superb work for a fair price.

Ahhh, I think most also removed the resonator which would make a huge difference. Not sure why since from what I can gather it's just a straight-through "packed resonator" so nothing to gain from removing it except for noise and rasp... In that case will definitely just figure out a way of replacing just the muffler, I would like to get rid of the bad kinked bend from the mid-pipe to the muffler but then would have to run the exhaust out on the left side and not the right but the Miata's bumper is cut out so meh... since that'd probably do more for performance than any muffler change. There's a reason why Spec Miata exhaust is just a straight pipe that dumps underneath the rear bumper I guess.

If only I had my phone on me to take a picture. Was a later model Silverado at Taco Bell that had dubs with stretched(and bald too...) tires with a crappy HID conversion, best of all the rear bumper was bent upwards and out from what I could only guess was slinging a tire that blew from the aforementioned. Oh and everything was Plasti-Dipped. Typical white f**k boi. I can't remember the last time I saw a riced out import lately, but trucks like that are everywhere these days. The only thing missing to make it perfect would've been some of those disgusting metal gonads that guys are so crazy about putting on their trucks... rolleyes.gif

After searching relentlessly I think I've already figured out what I'll do, will just replace the factory muffler with a straight-through muffled resonator. Between the factory resonator and then a second one added in lieu of a muffler it should let out more volume but knock out any rasp. Plus from what I can find it'll shave 23 pounds off the car since the factory muffler weighs 26 pounds apparently and the muffled resonator is only 3 pounds. So if it doesn't add any notable power at least it'll remove some weight while making it sound better.

Also I'm trying to look into making my version of a "Randall intake" since I'm not keen on cutting up my cars, so instead of running a tube off the factory air box into the cowl run it to the front of the car instead. If you didn't have fog lights it'd be really easy to do as you could make a scoop there, but I'm thinking perhaps a scoop in the corner of the radiator opening if keeping fogs is desired. I vaguely looked at the Shinsen just to see it would be possible, but nothing too in depth for specifics on it.

My head has just been swimming with ideas and things to do with it and I don't even have one yet. laugh.gif I suppose in a way trying to hype myself so I can do what I need to do and sell the Firebird.

Also I want to know why they went from sorta kinked on the NA to really kinked on the NB off the mid-pipe to the muffler, can really see the difference on these Cobalt mufflers:
https://mossmiata.com/1990-1997-miata/exhau...ystem-by-cobalt
https://mossmiata.com/stainless-steel-muffl...AyABEgLxC_D_BwE

The NA isn't so bad, but the NB is pretty terrible. I suppose could always buy a Mazdaspeed lip then run it straight out to the left side.

Hmmm... Freeform, Dekagram, or Hypergram...

Freeform at 12.16 lbs:

Dekagram at 11.75 lbs:

Hypergram at 11.6 lbs:

They all look pretty nice, but I think I might like the Freeform and Dekagram more with how the spokes come up into the lip.

Ha, I'm not made of money hence the $120 or so Konigs. laugh.gif Hmm, not sure what pearl pink would go with anyway aside from black, silver/grey, or white.

Though I was thinking about maybe some kind of Plasti Dip and depending on the exterior colour of the Miata maybe purple or some kind of chameleon effect. Especially since the Konig only come in bronze for gloss finish and then silver, grey, or black for matte finish depending on the style. I figure I'm only young once so might as well get the flamboyant car stage out of my system, plus with vinyl and Plasti Dip it's all easily reversible.

Pink and blue go together really well, they contrast very nicely. A friend in California uses wide bright pink masking tape for his racing numbers on his spectra blue MR2 Spyder. It really stands out and actually looks pretty good!

I think it'd depend on the shade of pink and shade of blue as well. Like here's those Grams on a WRX:

His Spyder is a little darker than that Wreck.

FYI, not how it's currently sitting LOL, He had JUST installed the FA coils and had to move the car with no height adjustments.

My brother annihilated and embarrassed a V8 Challenger earlier. *Challenger pulls up to stop light next to BMW and revs engine then rolls down window seeing brother's window is down* "Hey that(the BMW) sounds ok, but it could use a bigger engine" my brother responds with "Ehh it's ok, I like smaller engines" *light turns green and brother proceeds to take off normally and after going into second the Challenger floors it trying to blow by him* *brother being who he is floors it and flies by the Challenger and ends up with a bus length or two ahead before reaching the next light* *Challenger rolls up window and you can see the shame, he turns off the main road and speeds off once the light goes green again* laugh.gif I figure it must've been just a R/T to put that much of a whooping on it, one would hope a SRT would've been closer anyway.

He probably would have had the guy not immediately rolled his window up and ran off with his tail between his legs. Either the guy was thinking his 370 hp V8 in 4,000 pound car was unbeatable, or he didn't realize the BMW was the twin-turbo model. Which I don't think there's really anything about them that distinguishes 335i from the more lowly 328i, I don't recall seeing any badges on the back of it aside from the giant BMW one in the center. Or at least I hope it was just the RT, if it were a SRT then that'd just be really sad but I think off the numbers the SRT would've been a more even match to where the 335i is now.
