Wait till you've got a clutch to work, see if you're still loving them then!

Well I still have access to the one that needs sold... Though my problems there were with my knee and ever since HRT my knees have been fine, go figure. Huge muscle atrophy though in the thighs and calves, but short of some old muscle car cable/linkage clutch I should be fine in that regard. The important thing is that clutch engagement and disengagement will have never looked(or felt) so good.

I can do so at an acceptable level, but I'm bad at hills still. I rarely get to practice but I can when needed.

I can do so at an acceptable level, but I'm bad at hills still. I rarely get to practice but I can when needed. I'm drive/ own one & I'm kinda s**t. I blame the car. When I do drive stick it's usually max once or twice with that one car and then not again for months at a time. I can get about any stick shift up the ramps onto the drive-on rack at the shop and around town on a test drive (but I'll probably stall it a couple times if it's new to me), from an inline 6 Ford pickup to a 2016 Focus RS to a 2008 C7 Z06 race-car with full cage, but I'm not *good* at any of them. I can bang some gears and 'powershift' without the clutch and chirp tires between gears but that's the easy stuff to do. Driving smooth and not chugging the engine or starting off from an incline without rolling back, hell no I can't do that. ![]() Renewed the plates on my Mazda -$103 Autogeek had an end of season sale, 25% off orders over $125 so -$128 ------------------------------- Bitter is broke now But I did get some exciting new things to try and some more of the pads I know I love! I'm excited for some of the Optimum spray products, I got their Glaze Polish Sealant (GPS) and Hyper Polish to try out. I'll try Hyper Polish and GPS out on Erin's 2016 Escape because I've got a lot of area to cover and spray on should cut the time per panel down to a level where I don't hate my decisions as much. It needs a clay cloth then one pass with Hyper Polish then one pass with GPS and we'll see where it's at, might top it with Collinite 846s for that sexy big water beading. The interior needs to be cleaned so badly, I love her but she eats in her car which to me is the most disgusting thing in the world. I'm far from pro racer levels myself, but I can shift as smoothly as an automatic(smoother than the old ones actually), start from a steep incline without rolling back, and toe heel/rev-match so I'd say I'm adequate. It's all in the footwork between the clutch and throttle, have to be smooth and gradual with your inputs. I find playing with the clutch and shifter for about a minute before actually driving a "new to me" vehicle is sufficient to get going down the road smoothly.
Ewwww, eating in the car. Drinking water is as much as I'll do in my cars. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

So turns out I can get an OEM 2ZZ oil cooler from ebay in Europe for 'relatively' inexpensive. Son of a bitch, I need to stop spending money. Also I'm not sure if I can get the other parts needed with it yet. I want it. I probably don't need it but I want it. I want to add it to the pile of parts I haven't installed yet so they can slowly crush me to death.

Haha yea, I try not to let the little parts pile up but the big ones...took me like a couple years to bother putting the HID lights on and I've had my intake manifold for a while now too. You get a chance to use those tires before the weather has turned too cold for them? I dunno, I have high levels of self control. *shrugs* You can just go right to hell ![]() -------------------- |

Buffed out the hood on her 16 Escape with TLC on the dual fiber pad to get it about 80% good then buffed on a coat of Optimum GPS with a finishing pad to bring up the final gloss and seal it, let it cure for a few hours and then right out into the rain. Hopefully it doesn't just wash right off. Something *dirty snow brush* scratched the **** out of the hood in big long lines *dirty snow brush* that were heck to polish out, I didn't even get them all. I could have cut more with something harsher but I didn't have a lot of time before she needed to go to work. I'm not even gonna worry about the plastic trim right now, I just want to get the paint polished and sealed with some kind of protectant. I do need to buff the **** out of her glass to scrub it clean, ditto for the Mazda. Some wipes with the harsh clay cloth sure helped a lot but there's still etching/streaking in the glass. I'm going to hit it with some 3M rubbing compound and then put a coat of Rejex on her windshield tonight, probably her side windows too. She doesn't like rain repellents but she can deal with it, I hate how it streaks when I drive it.

Gah, owning vehicles is a pain in the ass. I don't like rain repellents either, but they've never worked right. If I EVER GET A ****ING MIATA I look forward to using PIAA silicone wipers and treating the windshield to see how it does.

I have no complaints about Rain-X. Whatever I've put on my Mazda it repels water where the blades wipe but not like fresh Rain-x does. Might be something I put on a long time ago, might be silicone from old blades that's ground into the glass, I'm not sure to be honest. I should try to strip it I guess, maybe Acetone?
