A very nice '95 Miata in Montego Blue with the leather package was just listed, all original aside from the wheels, radio, and shock tower bar. Seller won't be back until the 10th, but that gives me more time to think.

Though going to NB suspension isn't hard or expensive, and it'd mean pop-ups and a beautiful teal colour...

Glass lamps or plastic? If they're glass you know what that means...high wattage headlight wiring and bulbs again!

Oh did you mention that to the buyer of the Firebird? They're going to be BLOWN AWAY at night when they flip those babies on!

Sealed beams with the NA; so yup, I'd go with Cibie lamps and high wattage bulbs off a relayed 12 AWG harness.

I think I forgot to mention such, it all happened so fast...

Well if you have their contact like an email or number to text you may want to send them a 'care and feeding' sheet with all the smaller quirkier mods listed in case they need special or different than standard parts for it.

I gave them a folder full of receipts with the car, and he's a mechanic. That and I mentioned the lights in the listing.

Nuclear missile? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W30
Flashlight? https://www.acebeam.com/w30
Oldsmobile? https://mondelloperformance.com/2018/05/oldsmobile-w-30/

Which W30?

Also was the doggos birthday today, or what she says is their birthday at least. So we took them on an all afternoon hike and then bought them a pork chop medium rare bone out for a special dinner treat. I tried a couple bites of it, super delicious!

I like the fact that you think we can obtain a nuclear missile. But it's 2020, might be possible.

I mean I can buy Polonium 210 on Amazon... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000ALKDH/ so surely I can get a nuke on AliExpress somehow or at least TaoBao.

I don't believe you'd really want a "bar of soap with fender arches"

In other news, I found a song about the thing I chose my name after that isn't by Styx and doesn't suck. mostly because it isn't by Styx. They also have a song called "Under a Violet Moon." The band Is called Blackmore's Night. Celtic Folk music. Good stuff.

Reminds me of my love life. typically I am under a Violet Moon.

I finally did a few things around the house including pulling the bumper cover off the Celica to look at how I'll install the trans cooler. It's not going to go how I thought it's going to go with fancy brackets. I had some other ideas too once I got in there but they won't work very well either. The cooler has some bracket-ish bits built into it so I'll just use a bunch (8) of those mounting zip ties through the AC condenser. I can't think of anything safer. I'm not happy with this but so many coolers are installed this way without causing problems it must be pretty OK and I'll get more fan cooling air through the trans cooler with it coupled closer to the condenser.

I went through about 3 iterations of ideas once the bumper cover was off. The original idea, then some different bracket ideas, then mounting it between the condenser and radiator on brackets (space between the edge of the rad and condenser is too narrow for the lines), mounting it between the two of them on zip clips (same problem as previous), mounting it to the condenser with brackets from the top edge of the condenser like how the OEM top mounts fit the rail up top. That last one was the most promising but I don't have any of those brackets since I foolishly threw away the old condenser and it would require me to drill holes super precisely and precariously close to the top tube in the condenser risking a puncture.

****ing zip clips it is I guess! At least I ordered the real good Hayden 210 kit ones, not the garbage generic ones that fall apart. May even go so far as to get some of those aluminum cable crimp ends to smash onto the end of the nylon rod so it absolutely cannot come loose.

ON MY TOYOTA? YOU HEATHEN! YOU TAKE THAT BLASPHEMY BACK.

Or as I'd yell at our dog 'MOLLY YOU WHORE!' anytime she does something bad, she just looks confused but it gets her attention at least. CASEY YOU WHORE!

Know what I do need though? A hood rod holder for the Celica. I've just been wedging it off to the side since the holder is part of the engine bay plastic cover set which haven't been on the car in a decade. I should work on that.

I'm sure they do, probably, but they're not a lifestyle brand so I don't need Toyota branded zip ties. laugh.gif

Going to look at this Miata tomorrow morning, hopefully everything checks out!

The only thing not original are those terrible American Racing Wheels, but that's easy enough to fix.
