I've been keeping an eye out for a ST185, but I've yet to see one.

Thinking will sell the Firebird, just don't have the energy to **** with cars anymore. In three months I've managed to do the tune-up and that's it.

After my old girl breaks down, and she will as hard as I drive her, I'm just going to say fxxx it and buy a brand new. I am sick of watching people abuse their cars and pawn it off on others.

Box maybe you just need to buy a brand new civic si. It's a coupe, sportyish, and you'll never have to worry about fixing it. Or buy an frs or new Miata if you want RWD.

The problem there is I don't drive enough to justify the cost and depreciation of a new(er) car. I do good to drive 5,000 miles a year. What I should've done is bought a car that was already done the way I wanted it and not needing over half of it changed out and retrofitted.

Once the weather is decent I'll get around to cleaning it out and put it up for sale. I'll just buy a nice 3rd or 4th gen Firebird/Trans Am or another Japanese sports car depending on what can be found. I FINALLY received the title for my Miata today, what's funny is it was issued back in November by the state. So it was insurance's screw-up, go figure... So I can sell it if I can ever decide on whether or not I want another Miata or not.

I think he meant selling the Firebird, and I know I will. I just don't have it in me to do all of the conversions and retrofitting I want to do, so why pretend like I will. It's stupid to let aesthetic preference dictate things.

I have considered just pulling the engine and transmission then selling it and storing the rolling chassis with interior. Though I have nowhere to properly store it, so that kind of kills that. I have thought about buying another car to use as a daily and relegate the Firebird to project car status, but then that divides my attention and funding. What's sad is if I just wanted it as a "classic driver" it'd be fine for the most part, it's just all of the retrofitting I want to do that's kind of making it a headache. At the very least I'd want to convert it to a 5/6-speed, and I could live with a carburetor. The only problem is that none of the 5-speeds that'd be a "bolt-in" solution are rated for more than 305 ft lbs of torque. The 357 would shatter it.

you cant have a daily driver and a project. If you cant drive the car as is, then its not a daily driver. period.

a daily driver, is a car you are content with. not something to tinker.

That's where the lines blur though with me as I'm never content, so by that definition I've never had a daily driver. tongue.gif It's a daily driver for everyone wanting one as it was back in the day, for me it's a project of catastrophic proportions because I apparently enjoy torturing myself emotionally, mentally, and physically.

I'm the person that could buy a brand new Ferrari and find faults in it, therefore receiving a letter from a now deceased Enzo Ferrari saying I have no right to complain because I'm just "a farmer" or whatever and should just build my own car.

Bonus points for those that get the reference.

Box you really need to decide what you want. You either have to deal with daily driving a project and the nuisances it brings. Or you're going have to buy something newer with as few "faults" as possible.

I prefer Enzo's products over Ferruccio's.
