I've been doing some looking and most of the sites for a 3sgte seem shady. Any personal experiences dealing with this stuff? Can anybody recommend a site that isn't dedicated to screwin people over? Thanks!

what do you mean? sites. About the only place to get one is EBAY. Unless you have a local place, you dont want to pick up the phone and call california and florida, and buy something you are not looking at.. you almost always have to rebuild them. so look for the best price. and hope for the best....

There were some links somewhere in here that I checked and seemed dead. Some other jdm import sites i googled all had terrible reviews with customer service. I figured I'd have to do a rebuild. Its not something I can't handle. Ebay would be the best bet? How can I tell I'm looking at a real 3sgte?

Its not something I can't handle. Ebay would be the best bet? How can I tell I'm looking at a real 3sgte? what do you mean real? like a fake picture? Ebay has a long proven feedback system for this. bad reviews stay away, good reviews consider... i mean, if you are having trouble identifying an engine by looking at a pic, post it here. not all engines need rebuild, but to be honest, there is no guarantee, youll get a drop and go engine. unless you want to risk a lot. almost most people that swap end up doing at least a bit of maintenance. so its just a matter of luck. Unless you want to go to canada to pick it up, KIJIJI may not work for you.. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... Yep, just make sure you're buying from a seller with good feedback. Also I would rebuild an engine regardless of what the seller states the condition is.

Yeah, I'd buy off eBay from a seller with good feedback. At least you have some level of protection this way.
