OKay, i wanna know how much a turbo upgrade for my 3sgte will cost.... what turbos should i get , etc..... i already have the standalone to support it, and iam upgrading my internals soon, and would like to upgrade the turbo while my engne is in pieces.
Fensport likes the Garrett GT28. the T03 or T03/T04 hyprid is the most famous, but i dont know what it is , what kindave spool up or performance it provides. T-67, my mechanic has this turbo on his car pusing 540HP, but he uses Nitrous to spool it.... Other: what other turbos are there. |

To really answer that question you have to know how much power you want to make and roughly at what rpm. Then you need compressor maps for all the turbos you're interested in. You have to make sure you're in the correct portion of the compressor map for all possible points of operation of the engine. I suggest you read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. It will answer many of your questions on this topic.

Iam just mad that iam here, i should be looking in the suspension forum looking into new brakes or the extrior forum looking into gt-4 hood and bumber, maybe even a wide body kit.... i still have stock brakes, the car is still teal, and i still have 3 dents in the bitch...
the thing is, that i overboosted and cracked a piston.... so iam gonna get forged pistons, and build up the engine to a point thats beyond the stock turbo... and the labor for turbo upgrade is 0 if i get it done with the pistons. Mina This post has been edited by XXX_Mina: Feb 9, 2004 - 7:52 AM |

I second that! Excellent reading.
You have it all wrong, man. Study?!? It shouldn't be studying. You obviously care about your car, I can see that just in what you have written in this thread alone. You are able to read and write if you are posting in this forum. Dude, you should want to read... especially this book, which, by the way, is widely considered one of the best books bar none on the subject. Even if you aren't going to do the work yourself, you would like the material, because is it about cars, about turbos, and just plain well written. |

No...Mina wants to pay people to do the work for him. Not to mention he is extremely power hungry without thinking of the consequences...that is why his internals are crapping out on him. HAHAHAHA! Crap...well, atleast your crapped out motor would spank my crapped out motor. LoL.
