New SoCal member checking in. :), Updated....with pics. Options

Hi all.

My name is Frank...hailing from Riverside, CA.

I just purchased a Super White 94 GT approx a month ago. Technically my second Celica (First was a Celica Supra mkii). I'm always an active member of any car related forums for any cars I happen to own at the time, the exception being the 09 impala I just sold (worst car evar). Been around the whole car scene since about 1999, participating in some of the earlier owners groups & forums. I'm always up for going to and/or organizing meets. SoCal meet anyone?

So far I'm enjoying my Celica... a lot. Though there's plenty of room for improvement. I'm looking forward to learning about, maintaining and modifying my latest obsession. It'll be great to make some new friends along the way too.

Fixing a bit of an alignment problem the previous owner neglected.


After wash, pinstripe removal, zymol wax. Some credit goes to my son for helping me out with all of that. Free labor. Woot woot!

Well...with that attitude. jkjk.



So whats stopping us? Lack of enthusiasm? Lack of a Venue? Unwillingness to drive? Broken Celicas? No carne asada and beer?

Literally just yesterday, I drove from Riverside to Little Tokyo and back with the wife and kids, with the AC on max...it was hot. I'd definitely be willing to drive to a meet.

Lets get something going.

Perhaps you, bonsai & I should meet somewhere centralized to all of us. Are you guys up for a small informal meet sometime in the near future? Somewhere centrally located to all of us.

Maybe we can break the SoCal 6gc curse.

6gc meet is unlikely because of lack of enthusiasm. But theres usually a couple of socal celica meets hosted by the fb pages: socal celica and united dragons. The social celica is mostly 7gc while the united dragons is mostly 5gc. But both are active in socal.

I admin a fb page call California Toyota lovers which is based on Cali Toyota owners. I host annual meets in the central area for all of Cali. Last years meet we had 30 cars and this year we had 40-50 cars. So yea. Best way to do anything "social" is always fb because of how big fb social media is. Lol.

Iirc there's a celica meet hosted somewhere in socal around fall time. Its usually one of the biggest celica meets in Cali.
