okay, just started up my 7afe for the first time after putting it in. Started up first try and was idling high at just under 3k, let it run for about a minute then turned it off. adjusted the throttle cable a bit then got in to try and start it again. it wouldnt start and had zero power. no dash lights, no nothing. Any ideas?

Nothing at all works? Horn, head lights, etc? Check the battery connections.

That and check the battery voltage. Could be battery had just enough to start it and if the alternator is dead that would've killed it.

^Yep. Didn't see where he had just put it in until the second readthrough. Grounds could definitely be it.

Battery is fully charged with my multi-meter its reading 13.5 volts. I haven't checked the alternator yet. ^Yep. Didn't see where he had just put it in until the second readthrough. It might be the 100amp fuse. This happened to me, car starts but no power on anything except one thing which I don't remember (it might be the headlight). I replaced it and everything went back on. That fuse is tricky to get to and is inside the fuse box, you have to unscrew the fuse. $5 fix.

Now nothing happens at all when the key is turned. It might be the 100amp fuse. Probably a battery cable or battery terminal issue.

Okay Turns out it was the ground wires after all! while checking the ground with mt multimeter i left the door open with the keys in the ignition so i could listen for the dining if i found where it was not making a good connection and bridged it. took a wire brush to the grounds and starts right up now. Thanks for the help!
Now when idling it keeps revving by itself, from 2500-3000.. |
