Anyone with the JDM glass projectors successfully remove medium to heavy scratches on their headlights? My low beams are a bit scratched up and I wanted to try fixing this. After reading up there are tons of glass headlight restoration kits, but when I read reviews it ends up there's always people who say it doesn't work after hours of polishing. I believe I will need a cerium oxide powder, and that's as far as I've gotten. I will try to post pics of the scratches when I get a chance.

The first two pics are of the headlight I tried using 1500/2000/2500 wet sandpaper, toothpaste, and polish on. It only made it cloudy which looks worse than it started. I found out after the fact that those are methods used to touch up the usdm headlights. The last two pics are of the other side which I haven't touched yet.

It should work, you just have to put more time and work into it. Choose a small patch for some tests, I would suggest around the RL area, not in front of the projector. Start with 600 wet and work your way. 1500 is for very slight scratches, you have some big ones.
Before even going up to 800 and so on you have to have removed majority of the scratches. Think of every next grid as of removed the scratches from the previous one. -------------------- |
