Hi Everyone
I need to replace the shocks on my 99 1.8SR. Coilovers are too expensive for me but was thinking if there are any other car models that have the same shocks as my Celica ?? Sorry if this has been asked before, did search but to no avail. As always any help much appreciated. Regards Chica8398 |

I have KYB g2s they are good for the price. I paid 212$ for all 4 new ones. Koni yellow are much better but also 2-3x the price so before you go with them coilovers are the better choice. You can get coilovers for same price lol. Megan ez coilovers run 599

Being you're in the U.K. I'm sure the pricing and availability is different, but give the KYB struts a look.

thanks for the advice, had quote for new shocks fitted for £500.
Looks like i'll have to fit myself. I was hoping to find another vehicle which had same shocks that i might be able to source for a better price. Thanks again for the advice. |

The struts are unique to the 6th gen I believe. Perhaps the 5th gen, but really wouldn't be any cheaper and if anything they might cost more.

Since you're UK, try contacting TCB parts. They are known for fair pricing on original toyota parts

The struts are unique to the 6th gen I believe. Perhaps the 5th gen, but really wouldn't be any cheaper and if anything they might cost more. The 5th gen struts are the same in terms of the bolt holes, size of the strut, but all part numbers are different (toyota, kyb, monroe, etc) which leads me to believe the pressure in the struts is different. Someone please correct me if you know the answer (about the pressure in the strut) because i would definitely like to know since i couldnt find the answer anywhere |
