Has your engine been reliable ? I drive my 94 celi every day and always starts without fail 163k miles on it doesn't burn oil or smoke. How many miles can this engine run with proper care ?

I've got one with 215k that I didn't change the oil in for 30k miles, but it leaks a quart a week. It still runs great, leaks from every seal, but runs great. I've got a seal kit for it, but haven't gotten to this one, my dd is at 145k, and the one I'm currently working on swapping out has 345k miles on it. The one with 345k blew up, but I believe it was from lack of oil, not from the motor failing but the owner I picked it up from.

My 91 celica gt has 240k+ and ran beautiful.. Didn't sputter and anything.. As long as you upkeep the engine it'll last forever. My daily has 170k doesn't leak anything at all. I don't even have too add oil to it ever.

Mine has 202k on it, and I beat the hell out of it. Drove to LA at 85-90 and 4k RPM for hours on end and the 5s didn't think twice. I redline the car at least once a week as well while commuting and it still has no problems. Its terribly slow, but bulletproof reliable.

My old one had about 284,000 miles on it. Ran really good despite the oil leaks and burning of tons of oil. The back of the car was usually covered laugh.gif
Had to retire it because the body was becoming too rotted, but the engine never gave up despite the abuse it took

I bought one with 200k on it and has had the head gasket replaced 50k ago, I replaced the oil pump, water pump, and all seals when I put it in. So it's had everything except pistons, rings, bearings.
It runs like a dream I plan to get at least another 100k out of it.
I also replace the oil when the oil on the dipstick starts looking dark, no matter how many miles. I run Rotella T6 synthetic.

325K miles at the moment. Nothing much other than oil changes and miscellaneous maintenance stuff.

Mine is at 245K and it has served me well. It's laid up in my shop for at least another week though. I started in on adjusting the valves last week and noticed all the other little things that are wrong. Most anything made of rubber is disintegrating so now I'm redoing all the vacuum lines, intake, and suspension.
